Poor silly Geraldo

Poor silly Geraldo Rivera has gotten himself in hot water again. There's some controversy about the specifics, but it looks like he's getting booted from Iraq by the US military or pulled voluntarily by Fox for saying too much during a live broadcast.

I have to say that maybe just this one time I feel a little bit bad for Geraldo.

I saw the live broadcast in question. His diagram consisted of two lines drawn in the sand, and maybe three dots. Here, here and here are the places where we've had a lot of resistance. We're cleaning 'em up, getting some reinforcements and getting ready to go on up to Baghdad.

To me this didn't seem real overly specific. Surely the Iraqis already knew where they had been bedeviling us.

Perhaps he did go over the line as to what he was allowed to say, though. Fox News has certainly been the most pro-administration network on this war, so I doubt they'd screw with Fox unless they thought there was a serious breach. Not knowing the exact instructions and agreements, I have no way to judge. If Geraldo screwed up, then he has to go.

However, even if he did screw up, it was in the direction of being just a little too gung-ho in his patriotic fervor. I find this fairly easy to forgive. He wasn't saying stupid crap TRYING to give aid and comfort to the enemy, like comrade Arnett.

Politics. They tossed out a reporter from another, more centered network for doing essentially the same thing, so if they don't toss out Mr. Secret Vaults of Al Capone, then they'll have to answer claims of favoritism.

I'm sure they just hate to kick out a Fox News reporter.

Poor Geraldo! Once again, Geraldo is the story instead of reporting the story. That's just him. He had a moment, albeit a very brief one, when we actually got a chance to see him as an intelligent commentator. When he had his own news show on MSNBC. Yes, it was just a tad tabloidy, but hey, it's Geraldo. I wish he were a desk jocky again. I'd have something to look forward, to. I mean when you look at what MSNBC is offering these days, I long for Geraldo.

I feel so sorry for him.He was doing a great job and was a real morale booster for the men.Did you see how those guys looked when they got to be interviewed. It was just too bad he had to leave. He was the best FOX had.I wonder what the men think.
