No movies today. My Once screening was indirectly pre-empted by an incident involving the attempted mugging of a blind woman, but that's another story...
Today, let's talk about how awesome the Philly Film Fest website is this year. The site divides up the films and schedule several different ways that are very handy, but that's not the heart of the coolness. The "My Festival" section is the heart of the coolness. Here, as you can imagine, you can log in and customize your view of the festival. Create your own schedule by adding or subtracting films on the fly. Rate the movies you've seen and see how others rate them. See which films are the highest rated, most scheduled, etc. You can create a blog or add one you already have. It's all very MySpace-y.
The one thing I would like to see that's not there yet (at least I couldn't find it) is a way to send your schedule to someone else. (Which I'm sure could happen since yet another feature is the ability to have your daily schedule e-mailed to you in reminder form.) Other than that, it's one of the user-friendliest festival sites I've ever used.
I'll be gone for a few days, but I promise not to see any other fests while we're apart...
