Strange Wilderness. (2008, 87 minutes, R, comedy, trailer) Remember how I railed against Meet the Spartans last week? Well, this looks to be just as bad, but I find myself thinking about possibly seeing it. Fortunately, I doubt this has the power to climb to the top, and may even have trouble cracking the top ten. The advertising for this seems to be near non-existent, I mean I hadn't even heard of it until literally days ago. It is a Happy Madison production, which should give you an idea of what to expect. The story concerns a wildlife show whose ratings are plummeting, making the cast and crew look for a way to grab ratings. The cast includes such recognizable faces as Steve Zahn, Justin Long, Kevin Heffernan, Robert Patrick, Ashley Scott, Jonah Hill, Harry Hamlin, Joe Don Baker, and Ernest Borgnine. It is directed and co-written by Fred Wolf, who last directed 2004's sophomoric comedy Without a Paddle.

Box Office Predictions
Would you believe me if I told you that the Hannah Montana concert flick will be in the top ten this week? Would it surprise you to read that it is going to be the surprise hit of the weekend? It will not likely reach the top spot, but it will finish strongly and probably be in the top five. How can this be? Well, there are reports of it breaking pre-sale records, and it is tracking well among the pros, so who am I to argue? As for who will win, I am betting that Jessica Alba's The Eye will climb to the top for a brief one week stay while Eva Longoria's new comedy will likely have a decent open as well. Overall, box office will likely sag with the Super Bowl on Sunday, which will help keep a large percentage of the male audience away.
Here is how I think the top ten field will play out:
|1||The Eye||$14.5 million|
|3||Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus||$1o million|
|4||27 Dresses||$8.5 million|
|6||Over Her Dead Body||$7.5 million|
|7||There Will Be Blood||$7 million|
|8||Meet the Spartans||$7 million|
