Box Office Predictions
Friday the 13th made a statement last week, getting out of the gate and passing the $40 million mark faster than any other film in the franchise. Will it continue its torrid pace? I would hope so, I really enjoyed it, faults and all. As for this week, I suspect that the new Tyler Perry feature will jump to the head of the pack in a weekend that will pull god numbers, but not nearly as high as last week. This week and next will be a little slower as we await the arrival of Watchmen.
Here is how I think the top ten field will play out:
| Rank | Title | Box Office |
| 1 | Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail | $22 million |
| 2 | Friday the 13th (2009) | $19 million |
| 3 | He's Just Not that Into You | $14 million |
| 4 | Taken | $13 million |
| 5 | Coraline | $11 million |
| 6 | Confessions of a Shopaholic | $9 million |
| 7 | Fired Up | $8 million |
| 8 | Paul Blart: Mall Cop | $7 million |
| 9 | Slumdog Millionaire | $5.5 million |
| 10 | The International | $5 million |
