Neil Patrick Harris is hosting another award show, this one a little different than the Tony and Emmy Awards. After Harris starred in the Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions video game, Spike TV had reason to grab one of the best award show hosts of the decade for its 2010 Video Game Awards. The awards show airs this Saturday, December 11 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT on Spike TV.
Harris, currently one of the stars of the TV show How I Met Your Mother, has proven himself a man of all trades. Appearing on television, film, stage, and video games, he seems to be the perfect go-to host for any occassion.
"Neil is a big gamer and a brilliant host," said Casey Patterson, executive producer Spike TV's Video Game Awards. "Video games are taking over the world and Neil is perfect to lead the 'VGA's' in celebrating the best of the year and the future of gaming."
Other stars appearing at the 2010 VGAs as presenters, attendees and nominees are Chris Hemsworth, Dane Cook, Olivia Munn, Denise Richards, Guillermo Del Toro, Nathan Fillion, Nick Swardson, Tony Hawk and cast member from the hit series It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Danny Devito, Kaitlin Olson and Rob McElhenney. Rock band, My Chemical Romance will be performing.
The 2010 VGAs will also feature 13 world premieres of the most anticipated video games of 2011 and beyond. These exclusive video game previews include Batman: Arkham City, Resistance 3 and Thor: God of Thunder.

- God of War III
- Halo: Reach
- Mass Effect 2
- Red Dead Redemption
Super Mario Galaxy 2 was not nominated for Best Game even though it was the highest rated game of the year and one of the highest rated games of all time.
