Napoleon Dynamite

If you have any melanin in you at all and live within driving distance of any city with a population greater than 10,000, you watched a different movie than I did. I lived this movie - I know these people.

I knew this town.

I knew this kid.

I walked in his shoes.

Fine, I at one time I may have been this kid.

I’ll admit it. I worked at a chicken farm in my teenage years and they got it right.

I’m too disturbed with my upbringing, let alone my own existence, I can’t go on.

Get the DVD – it’s everything the hype says it is. Go for it…I’m going to go hide under a blanket and cry.

I love it. I want to rent it again, and then will probably have to buy it. There is so much subtley in the acting and dialogue, I really appreciated it.

Ugh. Are you kidding me? Most overhyped film of the year. Great to talk about, fun to laugh at (I guess) but entirely vapid and - really - not that funny.

I might have enjoyed the film, I guess, but I'd already had it quoted at me in school so much by the time I saw it that I didn't enjoy it at all. There's little plot and no redeeming qualities.

    Yurgh.

Luckily, despite the hype, when I saw this I'd only heard snippets about it, so I didn't really know what to expect. All I really knew is that it had been labelled more or less as a comedy about a nerdy kid.
I did enjoy it alot. I never managed to be quite as big a loser as ND (well, up until...that bit near the end) and I don't know anyone who was. But I know people who came close, hell I probably did at times. Although I was definitely smarter =+)

I always thought that the movie would have been a fantastic SNL skit. This is the cult favorite movie that should have come out after the skit became popular (A
Night at the Roxbury, Ladies Man...). I did like the movie, but not nearly as much as everyone else. Probably as much as I liked A Night at the Roxbury. Think about it.

What the FLip?! Napoleon Dynamite is the funniest movie ever created on such a low budget...the simple subtely of the plot and the bazaar happenings add to the comedy!! Kick back and let Napoleon take over...he has a black belt in karate you know...

I love the fruit-sellers and the open-air firepits over which meat is cooked, and... What? It's not "bazaar" happenings? It's "bizarre" happenings? Never mind.

Even though you have all made a terribly strong case for the greatness of this movie, my response is still an uneqivocal "ugh."

Napoleon Dynamite is awesome, the film will live on forever! Preston Idaho even has had a festival the past two years celebrating the movie! I just got some shirts that he wore in the film, so if Preston does throw another festival I'm going in style
Napoleon Dynamite Shirts they also have a really cool movie quiz that I bombed but the shirts are right on the money!
