There's this show on MTV called "Made." Ever see it? They take some kid who wants to do something, or wants to become something, and then they get a specialist in that field to come and help them accomplish whatever their goal is. That person is called the "Made Coach." The show then takes you through the kid's journey and shows you how they were no where near the goal before, but through hard work and determination, they got "Made" and reached their goal with the help of their special Made coach. As you can tell, it is very inspirational.
But... the thing that I always thought was strange about this show, is the thing that they are trying to become Made at. It's never like, "Made: I want to become an astronaut." It was always more like "Made: I want to play basketball better." It never really seems like THAT much of a challenge. Ya know... "Made: I want to have darker hair." Not really too hard is it? There is no "Made: I want to learn to perform brain surgery." Usually it's more like "Made: I want to go to the store and buy some milk." This show is way too easy. I think next weeks episode of MTV's "Made" is called: Made: I want to get on MTV's "Made." Looks like another good one.

I'd like to see some spin-offs like "Gave it a Whirl" or "Half-ass Attempted" or even "Failed So Miserably, I May Never Go Out in Public, Again." From your description those first two might overlap somewhat with "Made." I'd particularly like that last one, though, I think.

Come on dude, you are TOTALLY exaggerating on Made.
Most of them are like:
I want to be Prom Queen.
I want to be Homecoming Queen.
I want to be "Mr. Northstar."
I want to be a cheerleader.
I want to be in a broadway show.
You say it never seems like that much of a challenge. Well look at some of these previous ones:
1.) The girl from Mississippi who wanted to make it on broadway? She didn't make it.
2.) Prom Queen? Okay, I think she got it.
3.) "Mr. Northstar"? First runner-up
4.) Homecoming queen: First runner up
What you are missing is that many of the people actually DON'T get to their ultimate goal. It's simply fun to watch the struggle and commitment.
The crazy things you suggest would take longer than the few months MTV has to profile each of these people for an episode of "Made." It takes YEARS to become an astronaut or brain surgeon. It only takes months to do a "She's all that" makeover and become prom queen.
BUT, if you can become prom queen, when 3 months ago you had absolutely no chance in hell, or come close to it, these people might start to think:
"Wow. I went from dud to stud in 3 months. I really can do anything. I can go from loser who loves his hoover vacuum to pimp in 6 months. Hey, you know what? I can go from possible high school dropout to neurosurgeon making $500k a year in ten years."
That's the point. Too bad you miss that. Sure some episodes are really dumb, but some really are worth watching. A true adult fan of "Made" would want to see the ad for the upcoming show before deciding if it was worth it.

Dude, I know. Thus the humor. It was a joke. But, being serious now, is "Made: I want to be a cheerleader" really that far off from "Made: I want to go to the store and buy some milk?"

I've seen some episodes of Made, both were interesting. One "made" a dorky girl homecoming queen somehow, she did actually win. Sort of interesting.
The best one was some "girly, girl" wanted to be a BMX vert biker. It seemed like she had no hope to accomplish it. The interesting part was watching the girl go from a makeup and 30 minutes to get dressed in the morning to a girl who would hang out with the BMX guys. She changed some much during the show it was amazing to watch. And in the end she became the second women ever to land a backflip in competion. Pretty cool to watch...

A quick suggestion for these people. Forget the acting and modeling. Instead maybe try: "Made: I want to learn how to read what I'm commenting on."
