Then again, it's hard to take anything in Twilight seriously, let alone a forbidden romance. It used to be that vampires were tragic figures that retained at least some creepiness, but the emo rejects in this flick are anything but scary. In fact, the mythos is so diluted (to the point that going in the sun only leaves Edward with sparkling skin), you wonder why the movie is even about vampires in the first place. Twilight does little else to justify its existence, as the entire production feels too rushed and too half-hearted. The script never gets around to forming an actual plot, dwelling so much on Bella and Edward, it throws together some mess about rival vampires practically as the final credits are rolling. The special effects are dodgy, the dialogue dances on the edge of pretentiousness, and there are enough awkward, useless pauses to fill the Grand Canyon. At least the acting is tolerable, with Stewart and Pattinson giving alright performances deserving of a much better movie.
Would I call Twilight a bad movie? Not necessarily. There are a few salvagable elements, from the rather beautiful cinematography to the misguided but ultimately harmless story. But should you choose to soak in this brooding narrative, don't be surprised if it feels like it's missing something. For a movie about vampires, it's ironic that the thing Twilight lacks most is bite.

as a reader of the book, i wuould hav to say i was a littke dissapointed. i expected to see come scenes that really stuck out to me in the book. i didnt see them, i also thought that the movie was a little rushed and didnt really show the love that was really involved.

I know that a lot of people were disappointed in this movie, but I absolutely LOVED it! I mean it's definitely not as good as the book, no movies ever are but I really thought they did well. They followed the book A LOT better then i thought they would, and the acting was very well done. I can't wait to see it again!

I too went in with low expectations for the movie and left feeling even more dissapointed. I think that they should have showed the progression of their love a lot more. The big fight scene was poorley done. There just didn't seem to be enough details.

staring off im a die hard twilight fan, i've read the books countless times and im sorry to say the movie twilight was a major disapointment.
(i literally wanted to throw a rock at the screen.)
the acting sucked, the dialog was worse, the whole movie was rushed, and you kept waiting for something to happen when all of a sudden the movie was over.
im gonna find a rock.

I liked the movie and the books. I liked the book, Vrakluna:Origin of the Vampire better. It was more adult romance and definitely had blood in it. Shouldn't vampires actually feed on blood? I have an extra copy, hit me up or you can go to Amazon. The author's name is Benjamin G. King.

Great review.
Haven't actually watched it myself but it's just what I'm expecting. Be assure the book series is apparently much better, it definitely has it's flaws and 'cheese', But it's an entertaining read that is hard to put down.
