The decision on Ritchie's part to go back to his multi-character gangster roots was a pretty inevitable one. But while we can understand this, that doesn’t necessarily mean he can throw out any old movie that has the elements we expect it to have but be shy with the quality. RocknRolla is far below the level it could and should have been, and it’s only my general fondness for the director’s style, along with a couple of other aspects here and there, which allow me to simply be extremely disappointed instead of have a full-on dislike of it.
