Movie Review: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children - Comments Page 2

This movie has all the obligatory and ubiquitous parameters all Japanese anime must have

Based on FFVII the video game, this, according to IMDB is the game’s sequel, told in a CG movie. I say IMDB because all I know is that Final Fantasy is crack for those who love RPG games. I hate them. With a passion. I find them goofy and long. I hate micro-management when playing a game. All I need is a boomstick, grenade launcher or a flack canon and soon-to-be-gibs to fire them upon and watch their innards glide down a wall as I taunt them for falling prey to the Mindblender, my gaming handle. But I digress. This is a movie review.…

well, i played the actual game. and i really liked it, being my second favorite rpg. so i thought the movie might be a pretty good sequel. so i watched it, and it was sooo disappointing that i sometimes just pretend it doesnt exist. the story of ff7 itself is not open ended, so a sequel movie wouldnt make much sense, even if its 2 years after. so they had to invent those new villain characters whom nobody would have ever thought of during the production of the game and they really have no explanation on why they exist or even how one of them could even mutate into sephiroth, like what the hell. also, apparently they were so empty of ideas about why rufus shinra is alive that they didnt even let him tell. gee.
and it really sucks that cloud and tifa and aeris are the only notable good guys there and people like barett or cid are shown for only like 30 seconds.
but for one thing, the music i think is pretty awesome, seeing as its uematsu compositions and theyve got to be good, right, especially if you know them from the game and grin like an idiot if you hear, like, a piano version of the battle theme. or a victory fanfare ringtone^^ and best of all was the awesome metal version of the final battle music with the orchestras and the god choir and the guitars and everything =D

but still, the movie itself is, in my opinion, a disgrace to the pretty damn good game that is final fantasy 7.

This has got to be one of the worst movie reviews I've ever read....point blank. Not because I'm an FF fanboy, but because you obviously took nothing into account. In my opinion a real review is supposed to look at everything from an objective point of view. All you seemed to do was reduce the film to nothing because you don't like the way that the Japanese go about creating a piece of art. Also, you don't seem to know what glam is.

    I rate this review a 2 out of 5.

Wow ok you guess throw fanboy around like its actully an adequete insult. if anyone has just read this do not listen to this guy. Especially if you know and are familiar with FFVII and the FFVII series. The movie itself comes with a thing you can watch that is pretty much a digest version of the game's story. So even so you can watch that and figure stuff out. secondly FFVII is open ended. The beginning of the movie is the same scene as the very last scene of the game after the credits. They totally left the game open for a sequel, people just didnt expect the sequel to be a movie is all. Also, the movies are no more over the top then the game. The action is awesome and the voice acting is good. they even manage to get all the chars in on alittle action including Reno and Rude, the two best turks in my opinion. another you gotta remember is that this guy is completly biased and the whole thing is point of view. the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. dont go calling people a fanboy because you didnt understand it or didnt like it. that just means its not you thing and thats too damn bad. world dosent revolve around you and your prefernces. Anyway, watch the movie and if you look it good if you dont, to bad.
