10 Yards: Fantasy Football is an indie film created by two guys who love fantasy football -- Hunter Weeks and Josh Caldwell. A great indie film production, 10 Yards hits on every aspect of the fantasy football game and its significant impact on America. Created in documentary fashion, the film surrounds the Intergalactic Championship league and its progression through the course of a fantasy football season.
The film starts out by explaining the game and the impact of the fantasy football draft for all leagues. Draft day in fantasy football is one of the most exciting times to be a fantasy football owner, as it is probably the best opportunity for owners to control their fate in a season filled with uncertainty and surprises.
While the film covers all of the in-season drama around the league, it also finds time to show what the owners do in their spare time away from the game. Some of the owners go bowling and participate in other fun activities. Through the film, we can see that it is the social aspect of the fantasy football league that really makes the experience what it is. As some owners deal with big issues outside of the game, such as a parent getting a stroke or a difficult breakup, the other owners are there for support.
In the film, Hunter and Josh interview several former and present actual football players to get their opinions on the fantasy games. Surprisingly, many current players are unaware of the fantasy game, but there are also some current players that immerse themselves in the game as much as the fans. For instance, current Minnesota Vikings players Ryan Longwell and Bernard Berrian have been asked by fans to score points for fans’ fantasy teams. It is really great to hear the fantasy perspective from the players themselves.
This film is a great documentary on a game that has clearly impacted America. Thousands of Americans gather together every year to participate in fantasy football, and this film truly encapsulates the beauty of the game. This is a highly recommended film for all of those who love fantasy football around the nation.

This review kind of sucks. I mean the movie was really good but this review makes it sound boring. If Michael Moore and Ken Burns had a baby it would probably look like a siamese twin of Josh Caldwell and Hunter Weeks. That is how good this film is. See 10 MPH, their first film at Netflix or Blockbuster, too!
