Movie remakes: Will it never end?

They're going to remake the 1968 Steve McQueen classic: Bullit.

No, this is not a joke.

Warner Brothers will be making the movie with Troy director Wolfgang Petersen, producer Joel Silver, and will be written by Cynthia Mort, whose past credits include writing and producing the sitcom Roseanne.

Can you imagine how this will go down? What, are they going to time the release of the film to coincide with the release of some newly redesigned Ford Mustang? Like they did for the BMW Z3 in the James Bond series? Maybe they can get Steven Seagal or hey, Brad Pitt(!!) to play the title character?

Ack.

Well, the new Mustang does look (finally!) like a worhty bearer of the name, but Bullitt was not much of a movie outside of the car chases, and without some real Detroit muscle onscreen, it won't be worth the price of admission.

What next, Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry driving Neons?
