The Perfect Game - Poster, Trailer

This movie looks like a good one. It falls within the boundaries of the tried and true inspirational sports drama genre and does not look to push those boundaries. Despite that, it looks like a sweet film with a big heart. It is based on the real life story of the first non-American team to win the Little League World Series. It centers on the team from Monterrey, Mexico, whose coach is played by Clifton Collins Jr.

Human Lanterns - Trailer, DVD Art

I had never heard of this Shaw Brothers film before, but it has gotten my attention. It has martial arts but it is mixed with the macabre as two rivals enter a lantern making contest. Sounds weird right? Well, think of this: the secret is in the disappearances of local maidens. Creepy! See the DVD art and trailer below:

Man on Wire - Trailer

This documentary has won audience awards all over the world, including wins at Sundance, the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, the Los Angeles Film Festival, and the Edinburgh Film Festival. It takes a look at Phillippe Petit, a Frenchman who in August 1974 walked a high wire between the Twin Towers. The film takes a look at the more than six years of planning, the event, and its aftermath. The trailer looks really good.
