Part of: Movie Media

Welcome back to the Movie Media column, featuring trailers, posters, and clips for upcoming films. Some are nice and fresh and some aren't. However, they all have something in common: for better or worse, they all caught my attention. If there is a poster or trailer you think I should check out, be sure to let me know.

This week's movie goodies include posters, stills, and trailers for a few upcoming summer hits, including a more stuff about a certain bat, a couple of promo clips, some upcoming DVD information, a couple of indie flicks, and more!

The Dark Knight - Clips, Featurettes

Are you ready for the new movie? I know I am — July cannot come soon enough. Below are a couple of interesting clips. First is a look back at Batman Begins, with interviews with Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, Michael Caine, and Liam Neeson. Second is a bit on IMAX; Nolan shot some scenes in the large format. Finally is a clip on the design of the clown masks.

My Best Friend's Girl - Poster, Trailer

Will this be the romantic comedy that transcends the genre? Well, it does star Dane Cook, so I guess the answer has to be no. Dane Cook is an awful actor; he was watchable in Mr. Brooks and Dan in Real Life, but he wasn't the lead. Now, take him in Employee of the Month and Good Luck Chuck, and it is an entirely different story. Thankfully, he has the adorable Kate Hudson, the decent goofball Jason Biggs, and the newfound comedian Alec Baldwin to potentially salvage the film. Anyway, here is the generic poster and trailer:

X-Files: I Want to Believe - Trailer

Does anyone else think that title is kind of lame? It's a title! No, it's a tag line! Title! Tag line! Ahh, you know what I'm talking about. You may as well call it X-Files: I Want It To Be Good. The truth of the matter is, I do want it to be good. I really liked the series, I liked the first movie, and look forward to seeing what they do here. I just fear that too much time has passed and no one will really care. Well, that won't matter much if the movie is good. Anyway, I have avoided reading much about it, so all I know is what little is in the trailer, and it does not inspire much confidence. Hopefully, a second trailer will come that blows this one away.

My fear with The Dark Knight is that it's almost being over-promoted online. I hope all of this saturation doesn't set unrealistic expectations.
