Movie Media: Special Thanksgiving Edition

Part of: Movie Media

Welcome back to the Movie Media column, featuring trailers, posters, and clips for upcoming films. Some are nice and fresh and some aren't. However, they all have something in common: for better or worse, they all caught my attention. If there is a poster or trailer you think I should check out, be sure to let me know.

This special edition includes some Thanksgiving-related (duh!) trailers to help get you ready for your annual feast. Hopefully you will enjoy the few that I dug up and are all set to enjoy the day!

Thanksgiving - Phony Trailer

Here is a classic that was never made, Thanksgiving. This was made by director Eli Roth to accompany the Tarantino/Rodriguez Grindhouse experience. It is a trailer for a slasher film that features a killer that strikes on the November holiday. It comes complete with marks, grain, and scratches to help add to the authenticity. I know I would see it if it was made. Oh yes, that is Eli Roth providing the narration.

Pieces of April - Trailer

Back before Katie Holmes joined forces with Tom Cruise and popular opinion turned against her, she was on Dawson's Creek and was a decent young actress. I remember seeing this film and being quite impressed with her performance. Holmes is Katie, a young woman who knows nothing of cooking and needs to prepare a Thanksgiving meal for her family, knowing that everyone does not exactly get along.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles - Trailer

It has been forever since I have seen this movie. I seriously need to dig up a copy and spend some time revisiting it. Steve Martin wants to spend a nice Thanksgiving with his family, but the world conspires against him and he ends up spending time with John Candy as they travel across the country. Very funny holiday movie.
