Movie Media: Red Sonja, Sukiyaki Western Django, Saw V, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Some Like it Hot, Max Payne, My Best Friend's Girl, Planet of the Apes, The Brothers Bloom

Part of: Movie Media

Welcome back to the Movie Media column, featuring trailers, posters, and clips for upcoming films. Some are nice and fresh and some aren't. However, they all have something in common: for better or worse, they all caught my attention. If there is a poster or trailer you think I should check out, be sure to let me know.

This week's movie goodies include posters, trailers, and stills for some feature films and a couple of full length movies! Hopefully, you enjoy taking a gander!

Red Sonja - Posters

Remember Red Sonja? I am surprised at how many friends I have asked who have no idea what I'm talking about. Granted, I do not remember much of the Brigitte Nielsen film, but that's besides the point. Anyway, it has been announced that Robert Rodriguez will be helming a new take on the character with Rose McGowan in the lead. Really? Rose McGowan? Okay, I'll play along. I will say that the two early posters look pretty cool.

Sukiyaki Western Django - Poster, Stills, Trailer

I have only just heard about this film, but I am amped to see it. However, something tells me it is not going to get a terribly wide release, meaning I am going to have to keep a keen eye out for it. It is called Sukiyaki Western Django and it is from director Takashi Miike. If nothing else Miike is always a fascinating filmmaker, with such films as Audition, Ichii the Killer, Visitor Q, Happiness of the Katikuris, Fudoh, and dozens more to his name. This is an off the wall looking western that counts Quentin Tarantino among its cast members. See below for a few stills, the poster, and a trailer.

Rose McGowan can do whatever the fuck she wants. And how good is that second Red Sonja poster?

Sukiyaki Western Django has gotta be good. It's like a law of something. Miike owns.
