Movie Media: Nim's Island, Hancock, How She Move, Hot to Lose Friends & Alienate People, Prom Night, Snow Angels

Part of: Movie Media

Welcome to the Movie Media column featuring trailers, posters, and clips for upcoming films. Some are nice and fresh, and some aren't. However, they all have something in common: for better or worse, they all caught my attention. If there is a poster or trailer you think I should check out, be sure to let me know.

This week's movie goodies include trailers and posters for a new horror remake, a new spin on the superhero genre, a family adventure, a dance flick, and more!

Nim's Island - Poster, Trailer

This look's like it could be fun. A family-friendly fantasy/adventure coming on the heels of numerous failed movies in a similar vein. This film brings together two characters that could not be any more different. The linking factor? A fictional character created by one and loved by the other. Together they must defend an island. It stars Abigail Breslin, Jodie Foster, and Gerard Butler.

Hancock - Poster, Trailer

"There are heroes. There are superheroes. And then there's Hancock." So starts the trailer for the latest Will Smith offering. If Smith's recent track record is any indication, this is going to be a huge hit. He just keeps proving just how big a star he is. Just going by the trailer I have to say that Hancock is going to be a big hit when it lands in July. It is a tale from the darker side of superheroing. Smith is Hancock, a drunk superhero whose heroics end up causing more damage than if he had left well enough alone. This is going to be fun.

How She Move - Poster, Trailer

When I first saw this trailer, I thought it was for Step Up 2. I was proved wrong pretty quickly. Now, it does not really play to my tastes, but there is something that looks pretty good about it. It strips away the glossiness of Step Up 2 and looks to have more heart and truth to it. I am not suggesting it is good or bad, but the trailer shows something a bit more than the competition. So, of the two, How She Move has the early vote for higher quality.
