Movie Media: Friday the 13th, The Spirit, Chandni Chowk to China, The Boat That Rocked, Terminator: Salvation

Part of: Movie Media

Welcome back to the Movie Media column, featuring trailers, posters, and clips for upcoming films. Some are nice and fresh and some aren't. However, they all have something in common: for better or worse, they all caught my attention. If there is a poster or trailer you think I should check out, be sure to let me know.

This week's movie goodies include posters, trailers, and stills for some feature films and even a couple of behind-the-scenes clips! Hopefully, you'll enjoy taking a gander!

Friday the 13th - Trailer (full), Poster

The full trailer for the Friday the 13th remake is here, and I like it. It has Jason, it has the classic theme, and it even uses the kill count used in the original's trailer. We can all only hope that this turns out well, but I like what I've seen so far. I also like the recognizable faces in the trailer; the main ones I recognized are Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) and Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars), but I see the cast also includes Willa Ford, Amanda Righetti, Aaron Yoo, and Danielle Panabaker. I also like that Jason (Derek Mears, who also played Chameleon in The Hills Have Eyes II)has something other than just the hockey mask. Makes me wonder if this is in addition to or what he has before finding the mask? Marcus Nispel, who directed the The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, directs for Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes, from a script by the team of Damion Shannon and Mark Swift, who also wrote Freddy vs. Jason.

The Women of The Spirit - Featurette

I am really looking forward to this. Yes, it does strongly resemble Sin City, but so what? I loved that movie too. This film is based on the old Will Eisner comic book and marks the directorial debut of Frank Miller, the mind behind 300 and Sin City. Miller hosts this brief look at the women of the film, but actually all you need to know are Eva Mendes, Scarlett Johannson, and Jaime King, and that's just to start.
