Welcome back to the Movie Media column, featuring trailers, posters, and clips for upcoming films. Some are nice and fresh and some aren't. However, they all have something in common: for better or worse, they all caught my attention. If there is a poster or trailer you think I should check out, be sure to let me know.
This week's movie goodies include posters, trailers, and stills for some feature films and even a couple of behind-the-scenes clips! Hopefully, you'll enjoy taking a gander!
Dragonball: Evolution - Trailer
I know nothing of Dragonball other than it has been enormously popular for years. A live action film is currently in production and we have a trailer for said adaptation. It stars Justin Chatwin (The Forbidden Kingdom) as Goku, who must find all of the Dragonballs before Piccolo does. I cannot say it looks all that good, but it could be fun. For some reason it looks like a cross between DOA: Dead or Alive and Bulletproof Monk.
Knowing - Poster, Trailer
What happens when you mix a poster that looks like War of the Worlds with a trailer that mixes Next with The Number 23? An awfully lame looking film with the unfortunate title Knowing. Nicolas Cage stars as a man who finds a pattern in a series of numbers taken from an old time capsule that reveal the dates of natural disasters. It just does not look all that good. The big problem is that this is directed by a man whose name made me want to see a movie; now he is slipping. He is Alex Proyas, maker of the brilliant The Crow and Dark City, but more recently brought us I, Robot (sure, enjoyable, but hardly good). Time will tell.
My Bloody Valentine: 3D - Poster
Would it shock you to know that I have my doubts about this film? Even without the baggage of the original hanging over my head I cannot believe this will be good. Still, I like the image of the killer with the gas mask and the pick-axe. I think they are relying too heavily on the 3D gimmick, which will overshadow any other element of the film. Perhaps that is a good thing, distract from the bad movie with things flying at your head! Here are a pair of posters, one I like and one I don't can you guess which is which?

Marley and Me - Promo Posters
Marley and Me is a new family-oriented film that will be arriving in theaters on Christmas day. It stars Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson as the owners of one destructive puppy. It is an adaptation of a novel that my Mom really enjoyed, enough to nearly want to go to the movie. I warned her about giving me spoilers (although I doubt it would affect me much), but these posters that have appeared on LA streets seem to negate any cause for concern:
