Michael Savage has been fired by MSNBC for making anti-gay remarks.
Gee, I'm so surprised.
- "Oh, you're one of the sodomites," Savage said. "You should only get AIDS and die, you pig. How's that? Why don't you see if you can sue me, you pig. You got nothing better than to put me down, you piece of garbage. You have got nothing to do today, go eat a sausage and choke on it."
I don't know whether to snicker, cry, or brace myself for the upcoming wave of "it's political correctness" whining that is sure to come from the right.

I gotta admit that I find Savage's radio program rather entertaining. His show on MSNBC, however, was painful to watch. I believe this incident was a direct result of one of three things:
1 - He was desperate for ratings and was deliberately trying to say something outrageous to get some media attention. His error was to cross the line so far as to lose his gig.
2 - He was sick of embarrassing himself every Saturday afternoon, and deliberately let loose with such a vile attack for the purpose of being canned.
3 - He is just a loose cannon, a wildman, and such a statement was going to come out of his mouth sooner or later.

Well, I am glad he got the axe. At the same time, I see the point of those who said MSNBC should not have been the least bit surprised by Savage's savagery. They knew what he was before they hired him in the first place.

I am not a fan of MS even though I agree with much of what he says regarding immigration, etc. His remark to the idiot who called was if nothing else unprofessional and he is an educated man. On the other hand, God forbid the left should ever make any type of remark criticizing Christians, straight marriage or a number of issues that affect many Americans.
