Mark Consuelos has landed a role in the last of 2011’s fall TV new series premieres, I Hate My Teenage Daughter. Consuelos will portray a Spanish professor who steams up the small screen when he sets his piercing gaze on Jamie Pressly’s character, Annie.
The All My Children alum, married to Kelly Ripa, will star in at least two episodes of the upcoming comedy centered around two best friends (Pressly and Katie Finneran) who are single moms struggling to raise their difficult and over-privileged teenage daughters.
Mark Consuelos adds to his resume, joining Tony Award nominee Craig Bierko (The Music Man), Emmy Award nominee Polly Draper (thirtysomething) and Tony Award winner Harriet Harris (Thoroughly Modern Millie) as part of the premiere cast of Off-Broadway's Standing On Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays, which begins previews November 7, with an official opening set for November 13, at the Minetta Lane Theatre.
Directed by Stuart Ross, Standing On Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays showcases a mix of short plays that address the on-going battle for marriage equality throughout the United States. Among the writers whose works are featured are Mo Gaffney, Jordan Harrison, Jeffrey Hatcher, Moisés Kaufman, Joe Keenan, Neil LaBute, Wendy MacLeod, José Rivera, Paul Rudnick and Doug Wright.
The performance schedule for Standing On Ceremony will be Tuesdays-Fridays at 8 PM; Saturdays at 3 PM and 8 PM; and Sundays at 3 PM and 7 PM. The Minetta Lane Theatre is located at 18 Minetta Lane.
