Making the Rounds at General Hospital - Difficult Decisions

Part of: Making the Rounds at General Hospital

Today on General Hospital:

Sonny signed the divorce papers, as difficult as it was for him. You think we'd be lucky enough to be able to move beyond this same dead-end story that's been going round and round for weeks, but no. When Carly put pen to paper, she just couldn't follow through, and spent most of the hour trying to find the strength to end her marriage to a man she admits she still loves. Lulu stopped by seeking advice on love from her cousin, but immediately saw past her problems and tried to be a confidante for Carly and help her with her difficult choice. In the end, she gave back advice the older woman had once given her – follow your heart.

Patrick and Robin continued to exchange biting remarks, but with each attack he made, she acquiesced a bit. As time passed, Patrick believed more and more something was amiss. When he saw Robin and the lab tech poring over Nikolas' file, he enlisted Maxie (who better?) to swipe it for him. All he could tell from its contents, though, was she had to run a toxicology screen on someone's blood – not a reason for her to break everything off and run to Nikolas' arms.

So, off to Wyndemere he headed with the file in hand to confront her. In the final moments of the show he arrived just in time to hear Mr. Craig running down the day's events to her. Will he recognize the voice as that of the man who held Robin and half of Port Charles hostage at the Metro Court?

This has got to come crashing down soon. He blew up the Metro Court and he's walking around like he's a long-time stand-up citizen. I would say his days are numbered – except that Sebastian Roche has just signed a contract. I'm beginning to wonder if he isn't in deeper with government, though that doesn't explain his need for Nikolas to give him a new identity.

Just one little quibble: you referred to Carly as Lulu's aunt. Carly's mother Bobbie is Lulu's aunt; therefore Carly and Lulu are COUSINS.

Otherwise, great column. I share your hope that Noah Drake will appear on "Night Shift" from time to time (although I doubt it; due to his concert schedule, Rick Springfield's availability on Fridays - when NS tapes - is spotty, at best).

Duh! Cousins, you're absolutely correct Candi. Error corrected in the article.

Myabcsoaps was where the Springfield possibility was mentioned, though you make a very valid point about his tour schedule.

I also have my doubts about Hughes and Rogers since they haven't been seen for months on the "home" show.

A girl can still hope, right?

Hope indeed springs eternal; perhaps something can be worked out, especially if the new show does well and is renewed beyond the current 13-episode order.

Thanks for the return visit, Candi.

I'm curious to see how the spin-off does. It's a unique idea to take a soap premise and make it truly episodic, as appears to be the plan. I'm also very anxious to see the center focus be the hospital, instead of the mob, especially given current events the excessive violence has been a bit hard to take this week.

Did they say the baby was going to be born on Night Shift only, or that both it and GH would show the birth?

I find it hard to believe that ABC would risk alienating audience members that don't get SoapNet by only having the birth of this controversial baby only on cable.

Any thoughts as to whether it's a boy or girl?

Myabcsoaps is calling it a rumor. I remember reading somewhere else that the first Night Shift episode will begin on the regular daytime drama.

I'm with you, I can't imagine TPTB would only have this birth happen on the Night Shift. I'm guessing it will happen on GH and we will get some bonus scenes on the spin-off. I've seen rumors saying both girl and boy, but the most recent have indicated boy.
