On last week’s GH:
Thoughts that Carly might be pregnant began to swirl around Jax’s head after she had a dizzy spell at the PCPD and then later when they were home. As he became hopeful at the prospect, Carly got defensive. Well, sure she would, considering she’d had sex with Sonny only a few weeks ago. Carly protested so much that she was not pregnant in front of Jax , but confessed to a sleeping Morgan that she thinks she is and that either Sonny or Jax could be the father. Instead of coming clean, she hid behind her grief while Jax contended that a baby could bring their family together.
Carly confided in Diane about the possibility of her carrying Sonny’s child and wanted to know what her legal rights were if that were so. Diane reiterated what Carly already knew: that if Sonny finds out she’s pregnant, he’s going to demand a paternity test. If the baby is his, he’s going to want his rights. Carly saw no alternative but to take matters into her own hands.
Later, Sonny confronted Carly about the possible pregnancy, after hearing from Kate who heard it from Jax. He did indeed demand a paternity test; Carly rebuffed by saying she didn’t think she was preggers, but even if she was, it wouldn’t be his. She spun a tale of how Jason was there for her when he and Jax were not and if she ended up being pregnant, she’d come clean to Jax and get the test. Jax walked in on her leaving another message for Jason (the quarantine situation had kept him out of touch) and she lied again, saying that she was worried that something happened.
At Robin’s place, the debate as to where Patrick stands as the father of her baby continued. Patrick told her that he is 100 percent committed to her and the baby, and that he wanted them to move in with him. Robin got defensive, pulling out the “you’re a bachelor and I wouldn’t want to change that” excuse she’s been using for months. No matter what Patrick said to assuage her fears, and in spite of his actions the previous week with Mac and Epiphany, Robin was unconvinced.
So, she and Liz conspired to give him a taste of parenthood. Liz dropped Jake off for Robin and Patrick to babysit. Since Robin’s on bed rest, all of the care fell to Patrick. He struggled, but admitted not feeling that parental connection with Jake (which is understandable since he’s not the boy’s father). Robin took that as an opportunity to point out that Patrick did not really want to live with a baby. He, in turn, let both Robin and Liz know that he knew about their ruse. Liz counseled them to find a way to work it out and to be honest and communicative with each other.
