Making the Rounds at General Hospital

Part of: Making the Rounds at General Hospital

Last week was a busy one for love, lies, and jealousy in Port Charles. The Nikolas, Claudia, Lulu, Johnny love square continued to heat up last week, as Lulu and Claudia confronted one another again about their lovers’ (or would-be lovers’) intentions. Though it seems that neither Johnny nor Nikolas’ sisters are listening to their brothers, and vice versa, at the very least, Johnny decided not to fight about Claudia because she was the only family he had left.

Claudia had other ideas. She bribed Maxie to sleep with Johnny for a $10,000 pay-off, double if she could get Lulu to walk in on them. Hmm, doesn’t sound too hard for Maxie, considering she nearly did the same thing with Logan. Claudia probably could’ve saved her money, as I think Maxie would’ve done it just to stick it to Lulu.

Sonny continued to struggle with his divorce from the mob when he tried to threaten the loan shark who had Mike beat up. The baddie reminded Sonny that he was no longer the Godfather of Port Charles and that his threat didn’t mean anything anymore. With goons coming out of dark shadows, the situation could’ve turned bad at any second, but the loan shark let Sonny off the hook. Sonny then tried to order Jason to run the guy out of town and was in for an even ruder awakening when Jason refused, basically saying he’ll protect innocents, like the kids and Carly and Alexis, but Mike makes his own problems.

This conversation was a necessity so that Sonny got the message that Jason was in charge, but Jason also didn’t leave Mike out to dry in the end, either. The two came to an understanding about what he should do if he finds himself in trouble again, and Jason let Mike know that he didn’t have to worry about the goon who beat him up.

Shaken by Jason’s refusal to help Mike, Sonny sought comfort in Kate. For the first time, he talked about going back to the mob. Kate tried to reassure him that he made the right choice, but he wasn’t feeling it and walked away. He later began questioning his decision again when Carly went to Sonny after meeting with Mac about Michael’s now-closed case. She wanted to know why Sonny wasn’t there to get the news that the police couldn’t find any evidence that Dr. Ian worked with anyone else. She then tried to talk Sonny into giving up custody of Kristina, after Alexis pled her case to both Jax and Carly. Sonny and Carly argued over the point and she took a nasty shot at Sonny, in essence saying that he’s a mobster and there’s no escaping it. Who he is now is not true to himself.
