Kate and Sonny got into a kind of pissing contest when the now ex-mobster walked in on a contract negotiation Kate was having with Crimson’s distributor. When the man tried to change the terms of Crimson’s contract in a way that would cripple the pub’s release, Sonny stepped in and flexed his reputation to intimidate the distributor into a new offer.
Calm and cool as always, Kate rolled with the interference in front of the distributor, but made sure Sonny knew to stay out of her business in the future. It didn’t help that Jax walked in after the fact and expressed his own displeasure at what had happened. I think the real lesson here was that Sonny is starting to realize that he is not in the position he used to be. To survive outside of the mob, he’s going to have to change the way he does things. Could this be leading to him trying to return?
Jason visited with Monica in rehab to tell her that he has taken over Sonny’s business. While she flipped out on him with the usual argument of how Sonny took advantage of Jason and ruined his life, he confessed for the first time that he thinks Sonny’s departure is only temporary and that he had to at least give his friend the chance at a normal life. I’m thinking that this may lead to a reversal of fortune, where Jason eventually gives the business back and follows his own path. Would that lead him to the same place, I wonder?
When he returned to the coffeehouse, Jason found Johnny waiting for him in his office. The two discussed the fire and how Jason made it clear that if Anthony makes another move, a burnt house would be the least of his worries. Johnny tried to make peace, while Jason warned him to keep his father under control, something Johnny has claimed he can do several times but I have yet to see this actually happen. Johnny also told Jason that Trevor and Ric are pushing for a move against Jason.
On the lighter side, the battle of the baby blogs raged on. Frustrated that Robin’s blog comments have been taking shots at her baby daddy, Patrick made a deal with Spinelli to strike back. After Spinelli launched a spam attack on Robin’s site that posted hundreds of comments supporting Patrick, Dr. Drake, Jr. then proceeded to school the Jackal in the ways of bagging a babe. When it came time to test his knowledge, however, Spinelli was doing pretty well with a woman in the bar – that is until her girlfriend walked in and the two women shared an on-screen smooch.
