Carly and Jax battled on after Carly saw Jax and Kate reconciling from a squabble. She accused Jax of running away when things got tough and her jealousy of every woman other than herself flared. I get that Carly is an impetuous and passionate character, however, this constant defensiveness and weak arguments wear on me.
Jax came back with an equally powerful argument about how Carly always runs to Jason, who is just as dangerous as Sonny. He asks her when she plans on severing that connection in order to protect her kids. This was a throwback to Jason’s earlier conversation with her saying that they can’t be friends anymore – yet another change he is making in his new role. What’s more, Kate stops by while this argument rages and gets dumbfounded as Carly accuses her of being the reason Michael is in a coma.
With all the grace and dignity that this character espouses, Kate leaves and meets with Sonny, who has had an eventful day himself. First, Alexis asks him to give up his parental rights to Kristina, which results in a loud argument. Then he meets with Ric to let him know that he no longer has ties to organized crime and to let the Zaccharas know. He also left Ric with an ominous warning that he can’t step in should Jason decide to make a move against him. With Kate, Sonny gets reflective on his choices of late and how much he has given up. He tells her with all that has happened he has to be able to count on her being in his future. Where is this Sonny storyline going, I wonder? Diane had speculated to Jason that Sonny will be looking to get his empire back soon; I’m not sure that I agree. So I’m interested in seeing where the writers are going to lead this infamous character.
We spent some time with Nikolas and Claudia, as well, exploring some of the Prince’s darker issues and suicidal tendencies. The more time they spend together, the more I’m thinking that Claudia may be the redemption that the writers have in mind for Nikolas, not Nurse Nadine. When she finds out that he went riding into the night on the property while he was still recovering from his brain surgery, Claudia runs out to find him fallen from his horse and injured.
