In celebration of the DVD release of Peter Jackson’s epic King Kong, Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Fangoria Entertainment salute the cinematic icon with a one-night-only free theatrical screening of "Skull Island," a historical look at the island’s lost world of inhabitants and a bonus feature from the 2-Disc Special Edition DVD of Jackson's King Kong, which will be released on March 28, 2006.
The evening will continue with a showing of The Sci-Fi Boys, a feature-length documentary by Paul Davids that chronicles the evolution of sci-fi moviemaking, then a panel discussion with Davids (Roswell), Rick Baker (six Oscars for makeup, including American Werewolf, Men in Black), Forrest J Ackerman (editor of Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine), Basil Gogos (painted numerous Famous Monsterscovers), Steve Johnson (makeup effects artist for Species, Ghostbusters, etc.), and Ray Bradbury (renowned science fiction author).
