I love Girlfriends because it really tackles some real life issues that all women can definitely relate to. I have watched the show since Toni left and it's a void missing. They all bring a special thing to the show and without her it's just not the same. The show reminds me so much of me and my three best friends and I know we can't be together without all four because we never get the same effect of the friendship when someone is missing. I wish them all well, but I really would like to see Toni back.

Toni was self-centered in a way that you admired. I thought she was talented, beautiful,funny and confident. I loved how she gave you two sides of her, one where she acted like she didn't gave a dang and second had a heart of gold. She needs to come back because she gave that show some edge and that's what you wanted to see. They definitely should bring her back so she can fix what was broken in the friendship, that would be reality. True friends are hard to come by and when they have problems they don't seperate, they become closer and we need to see that.

I really enjoy the program Girlfriends and it just doesn't seem to work without Toni Childs. I like all the characters but I don't think you can take one away and keep the same audience you had before. If it's possible the Producers should try to negotiate Ms. Jones' contract to get her back on the show. It will really help the ratings.

I love the show "Girlfriends" however, I do have a feeling that the show will be cancelled due to all the negative feedback from viewers because of the missing character "Tony Childs". The show is a great depiction of black women and i would hate to see another wonderful black comedy sitcom go down the drain. Hopefully they would replace the character and bring back the good ratings!

I use to watch girfriends all the time without missing a show, i would tape it if i had too, but now that Tony is gone, the show is boring. If they would have gotten rid of Joan the show would have still been good. They need Tony back other wise I don't think the show is going to make it, and I would hate to see another Black T.V show get canceled.

Removing Toni from girlfriends is like removing
Carlton off of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or
taking Gina off of Martin. We all seen what happened to Marting when they removed Gina is wasn't the same and the show ended. You just simply can't start a show with such a strong character with a good story line then remove them the way she was removed. Even if she had came back to make the exit it would have been better. But to simply just say she moved was not a good
move for this show. There is very few all star Black cast shows that run this long. I don't see this show coming back for another season with the
way it's going. Not to discredit the other actors, I think there all great but the missing
link is Toni aks Jill Marie Jones.

First of all, this show should be prime time. I don't know how in the name of peace they could take Toni off that show. These guys are just brain dead. This is like having the x-files with just Mulder or just Scully. Oh wait! that did happened and look what happened to the show....rolling eyes. The show is great and well written. I just started watching the re-runs and just fell in love with the show. I will not miss those re runs for the world. Please bring Toni back.

I hope all who have posted have emailed the CW network to let them know what a mistake it was to lose Toni. If we all let them know maybe they'll bring her back. If the problem is money, they need to pay her what she wants and deserves. I hate to say it, but if any character should go, it's Joan. Joan is just like the girl-next door, a bit boring and predictable. Every black woman has a FABULOUS friend like Toni and what would life be like without our fabulous friends. Monica is no substitute for Toni and the show is not as interesting without Toni.

Her character was crass and rude. I'm glad her whining, self centered, nothing to add-i-tude is off the show. I could see myself being friends with the rest of the girls, but not her. toni childs, what can you really say about a character who is so self involved and still draws you into her spirit. I don't know what it is about toni that makes you see the void in the show so clearly, that even the people in charge have to keep speaking her name... you know you need her back...swallow your ego(i mean pride) and pay her..she is worth it..and yeah. you will have to eventually pay the others just like you suspect...afterall, they are the ones that are getting you paid.

Months later and I am still missing TONI CHILD. I wonder why? She was the most selfish character you could dream of meeting. In real life she would have been someone I would wave to across the street but would go out of my way to avoid otherwise. So why the fascination?

I have to agree with the comments above. I just finished watching the latest episode and I must say it was very .. I dont even know how to put it. I have not watched the show since the season started I probably won't again. I do like the other characters on the show but they do not have the inpact that the Tony Childs character has. I would really hate to see the show cancelled but it looks as though thats where it is headed. The show needs the edge that her character brought to it.

I like the show Girlfriends and respect all of the actors and actresses but I realize Toni Childs was a role that Jill Marie Jones played and it is SAD that any BLACK WOMAN would say a GOLD DIGGIN Character is their ROLE MODEL !!!! Earlier this year, the cast was reportedly told that show's budget needed to be cut in order for it to be picked up by the newly formed CW Network. Outraged by the prospect of salary cuts, the four actresses, Tracee Ellis Ross (Joan), Golden Brooks (Maya), Persia White (Lynn) and Jill Marie Jones all agreed to work together and negotiate their contracts as a group.
A show insider tells MediaTakeOut.com, however, that once the network put pressure on the ladies their coalition fell apart and Jill Marie Jones was left out on a limb. The other three ladies should be ashamed of themselves. What ever happened to sisters sticking together, afterall that is what the show is supposed to be about. I think that everyone should boycott the show and not watch it. They did not show any loyalty toards Jill so they do not deserve our loyalty. Just another thought about you who called Toni a role model, Girlfriends is on, Joan is in bed with the guy in the small apartment and she runs home to take a ... number 2. It made me think about how many men, have the cast members of girlfriends slept with, and how many comparable shows with white women portray them as to quote Don Imus "Nappy headed ho's." Even Maya "adultress, the ball player etc. ) Lynn ( straight up ho) Toni ( gold diggin ho,) Joan (with a 6 month then 3 month then no rule ho),William ( kind of feminine Black male also a ho) Looking at the bigger picture this is not a positive portrayal of Black women, let alone role models or women to idolize. Keep in mind I like the show but what white show have their women sleeping with so many men? ( and they have hundreds of shows) Not even Sex in the City. I see it as white writers subconsciously projecting what they think Black women are like. I am thankful Black actors and actresses have a job but PLEASE we don't need Black women trying to idolize characters of this show or music videos, to get respect you have to respect yourself.

Listen, kids. I've been waiting on the cast and crew of Girlfriends for four years and this powder keg has been on the verge of exploding forever. While the leads may all be "girls", friends they ain't. And suprisingly Ross is the least crazy of the bunch! The behind the scenes group is exhausted playing referee and babbysitter. Plus, the producers are already working on new projects. Girlfriends time is limited and Jones is the first to get out.

I had watched "Girlfriends" for years; however without Ton (Jill Marie Jones) on the show, it just doesn't come across the same. I have watched maybe one episode this season, after religiously setting my DVR to record it. I have now removed it from my DVR schedule and can't wait for the reruns with the original Girlfriends cast. Although Monica tries to fill Toni's shoes, she just can't. I wish the cast all the best; but Girlfriends just isn't Girlfriends without Toni Childs. I guess she truly did "Specialize in Results".
