I'm a big fan of Girlfriends, I've grown to love them all so very much. I wasnt to happy when Toni left the show but I do understand that the show must go on. I just ask that we some type of appearance from her or something. Lynn and Maya did mention once that they spoke to Toni around the time Maya had her fish fry at the new house. Letting toni go was what ruin the entire show. toni was ''girlfriends''. she was the one who made the show what it is today. if it was my choice to get rid of one of the characters, it would be william and monica because i just don't get they're sense of humor.

I have been watching gilrfriends from the beginning and i'am so disappointed since Toni was taken off th show. I have four girlfriends and we watch the show because each character on that show represents one of us. It's such a shame that it had to end this way because i dont run to my television on monday nights to watch anymore. the show and the girlfriends have lost its sparks. I like the show Girlfriends and respect all of the actors and actresses but I realize Toni Childs was a role that Jill Marie Jones played and it is SAD that any BLACK WOMAN would say a GOLD DIGGIN Character is their ROLE MODEL !!!! Earlier this year, the cast was reportedly told that show's budget needed to be cut in order for it to be picked up by the newly formed CW Network. Outraged by the prospect of salary cuts, the four actresses, Tracee Ellis Ross (Joan), Golden Brooks (Maya), Persia White (Lynn) and Jill Marie Jones all agreed to work together and negotiate their contracts as a group.
A show insider tells MediaTakeOut.com, however, that once the network put pressure on the ladies their coalition fell apart and Jill Marie Jones was left out on a limb. According to the insider, "Jill thought that they were sticking together so she rejected the network's lowball offer. Little did she know the others went behind her back and accepted their offers."
When Jones confronted her co-stars about their failure to stand together, they were less than sympathetic. Our source tells us that Tracee Ellis Ross told Jones "I'm sorry but I have to keep my job"

Just another thought about you who called Toni a role model, Girlfriends is on, Joan is in bed with the guy in the small apartment and she runs home to take a ... number 2. It made me think about how many men, have the cast members of girlfriends slept with, and how many comparable shows with white women portray them as to quote Don Imus "Nappy headed ho's." Even Maya "adultress, the ball player etc. ) Lynn ( straight up ho) Toni ( gold diggin ho,) Joan (with a 6 month then 3 month then no rule ho),William ( kind of feminine Black male also a ho) Looking at the bigger picture this is not a positive portrayal of Black women, let alone role models or women to idolize. Keep in mind I like the show but what white show have their women sleeping with so many men? ( and they have hundreds of shows) Not even Sex in the City. I see it as white writers subconsciously projecting what they think Black women are like. I am thankful Black actors and actresses have a job but PLEASE we don't need Black women trying to idolize characters of this show or music videos, to get respect you have to respect yourself.
