I think the show without Toni is horrible. They need to bring her back or it is a flop. I watched the new season twice and that was 2 times more than i should of it is not good.

I like Jill Marie and her character on the show, but I must take my hat off to the other three remaining characters. I have been watching the show this season and yes there is a void without Jill Marie but I feel Joan, Maya, and Lynn is holding thier own. I give a shout out to you three ladies and say keep up the good work. You still make me laugh. Jill it would be nice if you return, but if not I will remain faithful to "Girlfriends"

I actually like the new show "The Game." It portrays a side of celebrity life that isn't normally expressed on TV. The Mon. night lineup should be Eve, Half and Half, Girfriends (with Jill Jones) and The Game. Everybody Hates Chris should be moved to Wed. nights with Next Top Model. All of us should be canceled, because it has been a major flop since Elise Neal left the show.

How dare they removed Jill Marie Jones from one of the best black show on the air. I love all the charaters, expecially Toni, because she was trueful to herself. I have watched :"Girlfriends" since it first came on. I have even watched the re-runs as that has been my favorite show for a while now. When I realized that Toni was gone for good. I couldn't believe it. I tried to watch it but it is not the same. I loved Toni they just don't fit without her there. I feel for the other women because they will be cancelled by the end of the season. Toni was a major role in this sitcom and without her there is no "Girlfriends". I like that they have added Monica she should have been a bigger part of the show because she is truly funny and quite a handful. But she doesn't fit with trying to become one of the girlfriends. I am sorry but I will not watch it anymore it is too boring now!

First of all, to the gentleman with the lewd, obscene comments earlier about what he wanted to do to Tony, we all know thats probably why you spend your time on here talking about it and not getting anything at all. But the show without Toni is different, very different but I think I see what the network is trying to do. They are trying to have the woman that William is dating (Monica) fill Toni's shoes so to speak. She has a lot of the same character traits as Toni but without the innocence that Toni had with it. Toni was like a lot of young blacks who come from poor backgrounds who strive to make more of themselves. Despite wanting the Oprah/Trump lifestyle, she never cut off her past or try to pretend it didnt exist. There was almost an innocence, childlike 'lets play dressup' quality in her with a tough streak to get her to where she wanted to be. Toni was what I call a daylight dreamer. Those are the ones who make it happen. Monica is a good character but doesnt have the lightness that Toni had combined with amibtion. Monica is pure ambition, and tho they are trying to soften her character now, the impression she made sticks. She is a woman who will chew you up and spit you out, step on you and then complain cuz you messed up her pumps. Toni would do the same but feel bad afterwards, and thats the difference. So, figure out a way to get Toni back on that show and I guarantee the ratings will go thru the roof. I havent talked to one friend who hasnt mentioned Toni's disappearence. BRING HER BACK!!!

Previous statements about the show are accurate. The show is not the same. I told my husband that I don't think the show can survive without Toni. The effort to soften Monica's character is not working for me. It is hard for me to see pass the hardcore exterior we initially meet when the character was introduced. Monica is not working for me. She is trying to hard. I did not realize how much of an impact Toni had on the show until she left. If they would have cut Len's character, that would have been fine with me, but Toni, give me a break, her character was to stronge. I will most likely stop watching the show. I was hoping they would be able to pull it off, but it is not happening. After talking with my girlfriends, we all agree that the show does not have the same interest that previous shows have established. I guess I will be one of those that will only watch the reruns. If posssible, please bring Toni back.

It is a shame they combined UPN and WB just to get rid of most of the black shows. I believe that was their plan. I still watch the show hoping, praying, and wishing to see Toni Childs (Jill Marie Jones) magically pop up from out of no where. I loved this show, and a lot of other people did too. I just want the people that made that ignorant decision to know that they made a lot of people mad, and not just black people either. I love you Jill and may God bless you in whatever decision you make.

I happen to be a fan of Girlfriends, and these are my views. 1-UPN was doing just fine, no I don not agree with Toni(Jill Marie Jones) being gone off the set. 2. This is the worst mistake the have ever made. 3. Joan (Tracee Ellis-Ross) and Lynn (Persia White) is blahhh! 4. Maya (Golden Brooks) also made the show beause of her wit and Toni (Jill Marie Jones) with her sophistiacation and her haughtiness, they really made the show happen. It was a show of interest and comedy and real life all wrapped up in one. I really miss Toni. Either bring her back or shut dwom the show, that's all ther is to it, and not as guest appearences, BRING HER BACK OR I DECREE THAT THE SHOW GOES OFF!!! I MEANS THAT!!!

Like the other people who have posted a comment, I feel the same way about Toni. She was a STRONG character. Even though Joan is supposed to be the center of the show, Toni and Maya made the show for me. Toni reminded me of a friend I had back in college, and Maya jsut keeps it real. Those other two characters are not as interesting, but still the four of them made a complete set. It is not the same. I cannot even watch it anymore, some of those scenes are just embarassing to watch because it seems the girls are trying TOO hard to replace Toni, but it is NOT working. Sorry CW, y'all messed this one up.

I happen to be a big fan of Girlfriends along with everyone else; I am very disappointed that Toni will now be apart of the show. I really liked all the girls characters and it just doesn't seem the same without her. I personally think the show will loose some ratings due to this change.

I have tried to stay enthused about the show each Monday night, but the new season is nothing close to what the show has been. I am a loyal viewer who hoped that even if the network could not get Jill Marie Jones back, the would at least find a replacement and keep Toni Childs in the storyline. I understand that a stool stands on three legs, but the show is a table IT DEPERATELY NEEDS FOUR !!!!! I used to tape the show to make sure I did not miss an episode, now I just hope each week that the storyline gets better. Having Golden Brooks and her husband trying to get pregnant does not replace what is missing. For the sake of the show and love of its fans, please please and again please bring Toni Childs back :o)

If GF has lost its drama, then you've been successful at reproducing it on this site. Skip the show just read your comments that way you could practice literacy (and decoding given some of the creative spelling) but the best part is you'll be in the drama the show as apparently lost.

I do miss Ms. Jones's character, but I feel that the other characters are still doing a good job. Of course, it would be wonderful if Toni(only Ms. Jones, of course); we have to remember we have been enjoying their interactions for six years. Best of luck to all involved.

I agree the show is MISSING something. I also agree Toni made such an EMPACT. I did not realize it until Toni was gone.I still watch the show because Joan is still on the show. Toni was good but not that good all by herself.
The other characters have good parts but are interesting in different ways.
Alot of people on here cut down and criticize the other characters but thats stupid...because ALL of the characters together made it entirely whole.
They all complemented each other...

and others...Every sincle one of them made the show.
Cutting out Toni's part was so WRONG!
The show really is falling apart now.
Its strange how shows about Intelligent people of color...especially intelligent black women seems to always get the axe.

I hated this show to begin with. None of these black women have a stable black on black relationship. The character that most of these writers seems to admire is a money hungry unfaithful black woman who married a white Jewish guy. Not only that, the White guy is more honest in his part in the relatioship, and through thick and thin is still there for his woman who mistreats him. Persia Whites character even has a a lesbian type relationship with a white woman. Diana Ross saughter can't find a good black man, and Maya had a black man, but they never really had a positive relationship. This show is very problematic for me, it's more sad that so many black viewers fall for the hype of this crap on t.v, this show is a disgrace for the black families, and makes black women look pathetic, the message it shows is that black women are beautiful and very problematic, and the black on black relationship is a joke. Wake up black people!

While I agree that the show portrayed a dysfunctional group of friends and their problems; they were FUNNY! And yes, Toni Childs was money hungry, but who isn't? What saddens me more is that WE don't seem to get the big picture...Our speeches on this site DO NOT matter to the POWERS THAT BE! What does matter to them are advertising dollars.....And when you aren't bringing in Friends kind of money, you cannot expect Friends kind of treatment!....It's HOLLYWOOD people, not Brown v. Yes please bring JILL MARIE JONES BACK! I do think that the show is showing the girls have alot of drama in there lives. But Its a comedy!Seinfeld, Friends, Sex and the city all of them had the same realistic and unrealistic views and issues. I think the writers are doing a wonderful job, but I think a big mistake to let Jill go! I feel all four women have their roll and place in the show. The chemistry they all have with one another is awesome. Also I can't remember the actresse's name ( Toni's mom) She is also good for the show and if Toni isn't there how are they gonna write her in? Seems to me that when something is so good in comes some idiot goes and changes things and make a less pleasing show or product.

Does anyone at CW care or read these comments? I could not understand why Toni left and what happened to Half and Half now I know. I happed to like all four characters and loved their interaction. Each one is unique and represented many of the different Black Women, Educated, married young, adopted,high achieving and yet they could be friends support each other work through their differences remain friends.
Toni's last reason for leaving on the show did not make sense. Her leaving at all does notmake sense, Dear Abby says if it aint'broke don't fix it!! Did you hear that CW? it was not broke!! Now it is so FIX It!!
The good news is I am getting a lot more rest at night since many of my favorite shows are gone and the ones that are still on I have not found the time and date they are coming on.

This could not have happened at a bad time only when I got my schedule ajusted to be able to get home at a good hour to watch the Girlfriends. Now a big part of the show is gone and will never be the same. this lady you are trying to replace her with() (that is Toni Childs ) don't have the ability nor the experience to play a major role and take the place of Toni. Toni was a playgirl/lover/simpleton/educated/dumb bimbo/ funny person with class in every turn she made on the show. If you can not get her back as a regular then get her to come back every six weeks or so to make the show have some real plots and ploys.

It is quite obivious that the TV networks really don't care about it's viewers. If anyone out there (Network Executives) is reading their emails then something positive would be done about the return of Toni to Girlfriends.
Why is it that every show that is relevent (Touch By An Angel, Girlfriends, Eve, One on One, Half and Half, The Parkers etc.) are shredded. Even though Girlfriends is still being aired "WHO actually CARES anymore"?

Actually the whole of Television, that we now have to pay for via cable, is becoming unbearable. Who at the top really knows, cares, or has a clue to what they are doing? This industry like others are down sizing, giving less for more money, and skimming on quality.
Television is about to make the library a popular place to be if they don't wake up a smell the coffee. As a matter of fact, it may not be such a bad thing after all now there is more time to spend reading my Bible.
