Janet Jackson's Super Bowl Titty Massacre aka Janet Jackson's career now officially dead - Comments Page 8

Janet Jackson's one second flash of titty at the Super Bowl must constitute the lamest PR stunt of the year. Alright then, to the Group W bench with you.

Janet Jackson's one second flash of titty at the Super Bowl must constitute the lamest PR stunt of the year that does NOT involve her brother. Janet hereby makes it official with this little desperation ploy that even she recognizes that her career lay just as dead as Michael's.…

Sorry! I beg to differ. Why all the Janet bashing? Who bashed Madonna and Britney Spears for kissing each other the way they did and in public? What is worse: Janet's 5% nudity or the bunch of men kissing men and women kissing each other (aliens, from out of space, I suppose!) in the name of marriage as we have been given the treat by Californians and New Yorkers in the past few weeks? Gosh, we ought to question America's overall morality, especially the keeping of religious studies--the every foundation of this nation, out of their schools! I beg, leave Janet (and even Michael) alone!

Actually Justice, many would in fact broadly connect Janet's stunt with all these other things you are mentioning. The lowering of standards for public behavior, and the general lowering or apparent discarding of moral standards. These things get grouped together, not entirely unjustly.

Janet Jackson's breast? What about violence against women? Justin should have been busted on that one!

I wasn't gonna comment on this Janet bullshit anymore but it seems that her stunt (which was hardly noticable in real time)has started a tremendous wave of CENSORSHIP via the FCC and all of the damn "do-gooders" whose own houses are still unclean. Everything on network TV as of recent has changed dramatically because because some government appointed officals and a bunch of morally sound parents in their squeaky-clean houses have nothing better to do than to crusade against a breast with a pasty that has "diseased the minds of millions". This is a clear case where a bunch of losers in the FCC have found an easy target because they're to incompetant to tackle something that would actually challenge their brains. And for all of you mothers who didn't watch the SuperBowl please shut your pie hole. Aren't there ligitimate groups for mothers and parents to do something really beneficial? That would actually require effort and some of your active time.

I can promise you without a doubt that this has little or no bearing on kids. In fact all of the controversy has probably peaked their curiosity resulting in kids going out of their way to see a good picture like the one above. Good job. While you're beating a dead horse they are learnig all kinds of detrimental stuff via their own curiosity,(as we all did) looking at real porn mags that are inside of the bookbags of other kids and watching their real role models. YOU! It's sad that network TV has been set back about fifteen years and has had to spend millions just to go back and re-edit and cut seens and even complete shows.

You know I really have to say that this thing has been totally blown out of proportion.I also think its quiete racist at this point. Madonna has show here breast for years, she's even slept with jesus figures, and masterbated in pepsi ads, and received millions for it. Christina and Britney are geared toward a twelve year old audience, and have thier asses sticking out every other song, not to mention all of the crotch grabbing, air humping male performers out there who get kudos for there antics. Janet is a beautiful remarkable talent, and the problem most have with here is that she is Michael's sister, and he has a bad rep so they (people like you) want to give her a bad rep too. There has been no female artist to ever. Last this long without a little bit of media mishap. So get over it, Cher had her booty out in the 80's, Madonna had her twat out in the 90's, and now Janet has a peierced nipple waving to the fans so freaking what, its all in good fun. It's all in bad taste, but the truth is it all sells. At that my friend is entertainment. So in the words of Janet herself, let her take you on an "Escapade", and I am not mad at her for showing us its "Alright" to be who you are, "Anytime, Anyplace" and not care whose around. By the way those are some of her number one hits over the past 16 years. "If" you didn't know. Bye now.

So Janet flashed her right tit...BIG DEAL! Maybe she will flash her left one next year....Personally I think she did nothing any worse than any of the rest of the performers acts on stage...I mean come on, after all, nipples are part of the human female breast! Breast are flashed every day every where you go.....Keep your chin up Janet ...thumbs up to you in my books.

It was not just the flash but the context in which it happened. The entire sexual nature of the halftime show was inappropriate and it culminated in a guy ripping part of her costume off. The whole thing had a violent S&M tone to it and this incident was the capper.

Do this on MTV which I can block on my satellite box, but not during primetime at a family-oriented sports event.

"Jebus Criminy, but she looks old and haggard here. Not to be crappy, but this little display forces me to note that she was looking considerably older than her actual 38 years."

-butt I'll still plug her here so I'll get my .05 commission for promoting this krap-

    "Buy from
    Rhythm Nation 1814
    Janet Jackson
Music, Usually ships in 24 hours"

"Whoop-de-frickin'-do. Is this supposed to be shocking? TITillating? Oh, please. Is this supposed to make me tumescent?"

seems az if u still want to have ure cake an' eat it too!

you'll cut this i'm sure 'cause it'z an "personal attack"

Howdy Diaperdoug, glad you could stop by. I just noticed this story has bubbled up into our top popular current list today, two years+ later. Ah, the golden oldies. Good times.

I personally don't get any commission off Amazon sales here, but I'd be proud to have you come by my MoreThings site and hit an Amazon link where I will get paid for it. Buy Janet Jackson's crappy record and get me a commission- that's great, you can buy whatever you want, but I'd recommend buying something good instead. Perhaps the new Prince album.

This whole thing is truly hilarious. Even two years after, people are still in an uproar.

Family event? Yeah, I can see how that comes into play. You know, watching 300 pound men knocking into each other is a true family event.

And I really don't believe it was planned. She's not much of an actress, and that face. It looked as though they didn't plan it. She was shocked, and so was Justin.

300+ comments and only about 4, if not less, mentions of Justin Timberlake.

Taking jabs at Janet Jackson's all of a sudden 'lack of talent' (I've never heard anyone damning her for that before the incident) assuming this was all a publicity stunt for a new album, despite the fact that A) She performed two old hits, which cannot promote new material B) The breast baring occured during Justin Timberlake's song C) She actually didn't have an album to release at that point, but most especially D) Her last album, only 1 and a half years before she performed, was extremely successful. Her most successful album to date, mind you. Why would she all of a sudden wake up and find the need to pull something like this -- SOMETHING THAT SHE HAS NEVER DONE/KNOWN FOR DOING -- to "sell records"?

Madonna formatted her entire career on shock, controversry and marketting when she doesn't really posess any sort of real talent, yet the American public puts her on a pedestal and praises her for "reinventating herself" and all that other lame hype. Janet, who is by far a better singer, dancer, actress and arguably all around entertainer, gets damned for doing something similar, for ONE time in her life?

She apologized because she was ASKED to. Justin did the same, only thing is he copped out and pretended that it was all her fault, when actually there is footage to be found of him talking about it in amusement right afterwards (oops). To say that Justin was only doing what he was told, he is older than 21 years old. I think he can decide for himself what is appropriate or not inappropriate, and cannot be dictated to if that were to happen (yeah right). I very much doubt Jackson held a gun to Justin's head.

Its a shame that the FCC has fined Janet (not Justin, how strange) for that much money because of the MTV fall out. Now, concerning Music Television Videos, this is a channel, where, during their Spring Break programs they show horny half naked and censored fully nude college students/high schoolers licking whip cream off of each other's exposed bodies, stripping and I even remember one clip where one woman opened her legs (they blurred out her crotch) while doing a highly provactive strip routine in some sort of contest, as judges jaw's dropped and the audience cheers.

Now MTV are all of a sudden prudes? They have no problem supporting Justin Timberlake; who should just be as accountable as Jackson, but they have banned and blacklisting Janet Jackson -- who ironically, they just honored as the first mtvICON in 2001, not long before the incident happened!

No wonder people outside the USA laugh at Americans. We're so consummed with entertainers/celebrities -- and even their personal lives, that we overlook what really matters. Look at our "newspapers" -- how many of them now have turned to sensationalized format? Gossip columns? Terrorists must be having a ball as we bombared and dicuss the latest Britney Spears' Lindsay Lohan's drunken escapades while they kill more of our citizens in a pointless war we again, let President Bush go on with because nobody cared enough to protest. At least, not in numbers (and those who did got arrested).
