Janet Jackson's Super Bowl Titty Massacre aka Janet Jackson's career now officially dead - Comments Page 2

Janet Jackson's one second flash of titty at the Super Bowl must constitute the lamest PR stunt of the year. Alright then, to the Group W bench with you.

Janet Jackson's one second flash of titty at the Super Bowl must constitute the lamest PR stunt of the year that does NOT involve her brother. Janet hereby makes it official with this little desperation ploy that even she recognizes that her career lay just as dead as Michael's.…

Oh, I guess it is ok for my daughter to see Britney kiss Madonna. The reason she did Rhythm Nation was to wake people up! Get a life with the double standard crap! I bet some of you fools believe in same sex marriage!

Depends on how old your daughter is.

The reason Janet did Rhythm Nation was to make a buck. There is no social statement involved, and little artistic statement of any kind.

Whoever thought that that halftime show was appropriate must not have small children! I was embarrassed! Not just the titty at the end but all the bumping and grinding during the Janet Jackson/ Justin Timberlake song was ridiculous!

    Hi there,

I just read about the Janet Show. Which I don't understand is that all hell breaks lose over a tit. If I am right, a few months ago you could see people getting killed from within fighter airplanes and helicopters and that was SO COOL. That was also prime time tv. I am from Belgium and for my standards a titty is not so bad compared to seeing impacts of missiles into buildings and so. I would prefer for my kid to see some tits instead of a live war.

    Greetings from Belgium,

    Bunker

Has anyone thought of this...if this was truly, as MTV put it, "unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional."...then why did Janet apologize? She would have no reason to apologize. She should've been one who was apologized to. Hmmmm.

As stated above, if you really care about the facts of this topic view the close up photos on the drudge report. Her nipple is not covered by a tassel, it is a large nipple piercing, and the material had snaps to be easily removed. The true outrage is not that one nipple or breast was shown, but the constant erroding of family values in this country. Don't buy these albums and don't let your kids buy them if you are offended. Evil is in our TV, just as much as it is in Iraq. Many kids in this country do not grow up with TV's, shame on you for letting them watch it, don't blame the TV station.

I think that the Superbowl experience includes alot of events.

    1. We have grown men trying to tear each other apart for the almight $$$ and a ugly torphy.

    2. We have many companies willing to pay 2.3 million dollars (I believe per second) to advertise beer, soda and other items for our well-being.

    3. We have NFL cheerleaders shaking things up and spreading team spirit by using every natual and un-natural assets.

    3. We have ticket prices so high that the average family will never be able to enjoy the Superbowl experience.

Yet, people want to complain that Janet's and Justin's half-time show performance ruined their and their children's experience are just looking for something to gripe about.

There are many network shows that are pushing the envelope everyday...Shield, Nip N Tuck, NYPD (ugly asses, shower scenes), CSI (graphic crime scene).

The human body yes, can be exploited. However, everytime a body part is exposed on TV the world should not have to stop and defend its morality.

Guess what? Some people are not don't find the breast to be sexy. What about the other parts...Britney's stomach & pubic area, Christina's ass checks, Pink's stomach & hip bones, Beyonce's hour glass figure. So what, folks! Move on.

Sometime we act as though exposing a body part is going to unravel our moral fiber. Instead, we should realize how we respond and judge other will be undoing of our morality.

The network knew who they selected for the half-time show. They even knew what songs were being played because they were in attendance of every practice. Have they every attended a Janet Jackson's concert?. She's known for selecting someone out of the audience to sexually tease. Sexuality is her appeal. Duh?

I myself don't believe that it was an accident. But, I do believe it was a great diverse half-time show.

    Next!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, just finished reading about this..... wow. Does anyone bother to say anything about Justin? I mean, he's ripping the shirt off a woman almost old enough to be his mother, then proving once again that he's a terrible liar when he denies the intention. Let's face it. Janet's always been a shocker when it comes to her shows. This should warrent nothing for her but a glance. And look on the bright side. She's not like her brother! At least Justin's legal.... ;)

I know I'm going to probably get in trouble for that last one, but it's the truth. Janet has never backed down from a publicity stunt in her shows, why should this be any different? If the commercials during half time can show as much as they do, why can't Janet show a little skin?

  • 37 - Grits5089

    Feb 02, 2004 at 12:18 pm

It's not the nudity I mind as much as the way it was done. A real woman would have smaked him up side the head. But Janet needs the publicity - and now we all know to stay at least an arm's lenght away from Justin. It's just bad manners people, and it's MY decision if my kids see it - no one elses.

Nor do I don't let them watch "live war" on TV. I censor TV, music, everything, particularly violence.

I want my kid's to learn good sportsmanship from the SuperBowl. I want them to respect themselves and other people. Even though it was the SuperBowl, did anyone remember the tribute to the shuttle astronaughts? Or tributes to our solders fighting for our freedom. That's what we should be celebrating - not giving in to Janet & Justin's PR stunt - that was just plain low class.

I believe the reason why so many people may be upset is because it was unpredictable. Believe it or not, but many people monitor what their children watch. Of course there are a lot of sexual or nasty shows on tv - but thats what ratings are for. If this show wasn't to be seen by children they should of said so. It does matter what was shown regardless of it being a breast or whatever. Parents should know whats going on. I feel that they need to get harsh on some shows, and people, on regular tv, before all minds of children and our society end up in the gutter - or much worse than it is now. These things only make society worse.

  • 40 - annimal

    Feb 02, 2004 at 2:05 pm

I agree that part of the problem was that this was unexpected, and therefore parents had no idea to turn the channel to protect their kids innocent eyes from JJ's boob. I expected the music to be terrible, knowing that it was Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson (a has been for sure!). I can certainly say her taste in men isn't very good. Jermaine Dupri? and then letting Justin Timberlake feel her boobs? Justin is like a whiney little boy whose voice sounds like it is still changing. His music is pretty retarded, no matter how much he tries to pretend he is a thug. But I guess being a mama's boy-wanna be thug does get you hot (although airheaded) chicks. Just look at Nick Carter and Paris Hilton. She probably likes him b/c he can get good drugs now that he's hanging out with Tommy Lee. Anyhow, the whole Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake thing was pretty lame. If they actually had good music, they wouldn't have to resort to such cheap PR stunts.

I don't see what the hubbub is all about. She definitely had her nipple covered, so there really is no true nudity. I've seen worse from mothers who whip out a boob to feed their child in the middle of a resteraunt or a mall. There is no true FCC violation here!

  • 42 - Aj

    Feb 02, 2004 at 4:50 pm

I think that the whole thing was sad. A saggy boob from a has been, the age difference, tainting a family show, and the obviously pre-planned stunt. It would have been more acceptable had it been MTV awards or something...but come on..The SUperbowl?! Puleeze!

  • 43 - Bebster

    Feb 02, 2004 at 4:53 pm

I dont get the whole "we weren't told" BS. You are OK letting you kids watch guys physically beat and fight each other for a paycheck, a quarter million dollar paycheck at that, but a boob is unacceptable? What the F' is wrong with you?!?!?!

  • 44 - vamptasia

    Feb 02, 2004 at 4:58 pm

Well I think it is sad that people are harking on a boob so much.

Ok Lets look at football from the reality standards. NFL Football is a bunch of grown men in tight outfits with lots of padding knocking the crap out of each other trying to get a ball to a goal post.

People get seriously injured some even result in permanent disability and death but are we going to stop the sport heck no.

Have you noticed those cute little little barely there hardly any cloth to them left anymore costumes the cheerleaders wear now a days I mean half of them are just glorified bakinis with short short daisy duke like skirt/shorts with plenty of panty shots and butt cheeks hanging out. Do we make them put on more clothes heck no.

You got woman exposing themselves daily, Feeding a child at the store, or mall, Or in a park. We all where exposed to breasts when we where children being fed by our mothers don't make that same part of our body be dirty because it was slightly exposed during a half time game.

Woman wearing bathing suites that conveniently fall off when entering a pool. Necked people shots on various popular TV shows.

The problem is not that her boob was exposed. It is that people of America are ashamed of the natural body. They call it dirty and evil to expose it.

Look at art. How many of the most famous art pictures are of nude men and woman Statues, paintings and the like that you see when you walk into a museum. Do you call it dirty and evil. No. It is admired and found to be beautiful.

People need to quit harping on this whole expose your body and go to hell BS because it is not written in the bible as such.

Her nipple was covered. Maybe the tip was exposed but unless you get a magnifying glass and blow up the picture it is not fully exposed and the women in shampoo commercials and movies with only their hair covering there breast reveal as much if not more than Janet did Yesterday. If you can't explain to you children what just happened then don't watch tv. Your watching a sport with scantly clad cheerleaders and players ready to take each others head off. Get a life people. Because breasts provide it.

    Feb 02, 2004 at 5:40 pm

Most people could care less about this breast issue by Janet Jackson.

Now the branch of the Federal-Nazis better known as the FCC is investigating. What really makes them mad is that Jackson stole momentary control from them. I like that best.

  • 46 - Daniel Jackson

    Feb 02, 2004 at 6:06 pm

Ok - This was a PR stunt. She has a beautiful breast. Although in the above picture her face looks a bit haggered.
If you saw her telavised concert from Hawaii then you would know she would stoop this low for PR. cause during this concert she strapped a fan into a contraption on stage and dry humped the hell out of him during on of her most vulgar songs. A song which even her mother was ashamed to listen too.

Yeah, the FCC investigation cracks me up.

In defense of Michael Powell (sort of), I suspect that this is more of a CYA thing. What kind of crap would he get for NOT acting like he's doing something? Think how much GRIEF he got for not raising hell about Bono saying the F word on an awards show last year.

First, I want to know why alot of men that I am aquainted with are getting such a rise (no pun intended) out of Janet Jackson's boob? Have they never seen a boob before? And it's not like it's oversized or overly perky, so what's the attraction? For men to be spending their time at work today on the internet attempting to find the largest, closest photo of Janet's boob, then am I to assume that flashing your boobs is now an accepted behavior? Then, perhaps all the men that couldn't get enough of the boob in question would also be okay with their girlfriends, wives, or significant others to bear their breasts the next time they're at the local bar or club. I think that if this kind of behavior is considered acceptable, then let all those men enjoy seeing their women bare their breasts to a barful of strange men, better yet, maybe they are also okay with seeing their daughters or daughter-in-laws flashing a little titty here and there! Don't tell me that that's not okay; you mean you guys have double standards?!? No way. Obviously, at least with the men I know, it's okay for them to ogle and drool, but for some reason their girlfriends' should cover up. That's a crock, and I think if you want to look, then look at the one you consider your special someone flashing her tit to a bunch of horny guys! What, that's not a turn on?

I mean let me get through the birds and bees befor I have to explain why some birds kiss birds and some bees kiss bees to my daughters. But then hey...thats my opinion on things....

Ok. Forget if it was supposed to happen or not,. Forget that he is half her age. Her boob fell out of her "malfunctioning wardrobe." HELLO??? Anybody see the key word here?..'FELL'? It didn't pop out or come out, it FELL and FELL and FELL out. It dropped about 3-5 inches. She could have touched it without bending her elbow! Was her PR person drunk? Was she? She could have broke her hip when it fell out. Try it 30 years younger when they are a little, no, a lot more perkier.

The showing of Janets breast in my opinion was totally planned and without taste. But, The network made a bigger mistake allowing Timberflake to sing his irresponsible lyrics about getting a girl naked by the end of the song. If a young female is unfortunately attacked by some impressionable young male because of what he heard his teen idol sing then Timberflake should be held totally accountable and lose his entire fortune. There should be alot more censoring of the lyrics and actions on television and cable. I was also totally offended by Miss Nelly trying to find his peanut during the performance. I see absolutely no talent in this creep at all. When is this Rap Crap going to end anyway. Time to protect our youth and send these jerks a message that these kind of irresponible actions will no longer be tolerated.

It's not just the silver nipple, or bad PR: It's about the lie that says all of this is acceptable. The truth is that people are not going to find their financial success and failure on the american people. They have fallen into the lies of the devil that says get to the top and make your statement anyway you can. It doesn't matter who is in the way, or who gets offended or what gets compromised. You all have commented on her talent and career, why does she feel, or the producers of the haftime show have to compromise?

I think today's artists have so little talent (such as Timberlake) that this is what they need to do for attention....I am a bit surprised that Janet would do this, but I think she is getting back at CBS for getting rid of Michael who was supposed to perform earlier....I just have a problem with "artists" forcing their morality on us...My 12 year old was flabbergasted.....you may think thats funny but the truth is kids will now get the message that frankly anything goes....there is no respect anymore out there....there isnt any real talent either.....
Justin has his little "oneupping Britney" thing too...so everyone wins...except our kids. Does this mean the man in the rain coat flashing isnt really breaking the law? Because surely CELEBRITIES are not above the law in this country are they????? (ooooh of course not)
I could have cared less if they had done this AFTER 10PM....but it isnt fair to the parents in this country who try to protect their kids from all the crap out there in the world that is ready to change them into "the world revolves around me and the hell with you" type of attitude that this next generation seems to have.

This nation is one that is built on nudity and obscene behavior. Everyday we are all exposed to sex, sexual innuendos, and sexually explicit content in the media. What is the big deal about Janet baring her breast to the world! It is something that many of America's children are exposed on a daily basis. The 3 seconds of fame that Janet Jackson’s boobs had is nothing compared to the amount of time that our youth is exposed to drugs, sex, and violence. We allow our children to watch rated R movies and play video games where the goal is to KILL and SHOOT other people. Instead of focusing on a breast, the FCC should focus on more important things. Stop trying to make an example out of Janet and try fixing other obscenities on television!

I would love to meet the plastic surgeon who did her breast and shake that mans hand. Why?? Because if he did not do her breast then that Super Bowl would have soooooooooo boring. Justin Timberlake??? He is a fag who cross dresses on the weekends and looks for sheep in the country side. He will probably end up living with with Scott Baio with in the year.
