Actress/singer Jennifer Lopez, who was out of the running a month ago, is now back in as a future judge on American Idol, People reports. This comes two weeks after judge Kara DioGuardi reported her plans to leave, following similar decisions by both Ellen DeGeneres and Simon Cowell. Randy Jackson remains the only original judge left at popular singing compeition.
"She’s very excited,” a source close to Lopez told the magazine. FOX has yet to comment. The price tag to have Lopez critique future hopefuls: 12 million dollars.
Lopez reportedly had hoped to score some movie and television deals in addition to a larger salary; however those conditions fell through.
J-Lo is not the only celebrity to have seemingly reached a deal. Steven Tyler of Aerosmith fame may round out the judges' table, although no official word has been given. Shania Twain, Harry Connick Jr., Elton John, and Chris Isaak were also rumored to be in consideration as well.
