On the show?
Yeah.
My first audition was for Manny, that was before the character of Liberty had even been developed. Cassie [Steele, who plays Manny] also auditioned for Liberty. So I think it would be interesting to see if we actually had gotten the other role we auditioned for. I played Manny and Cassie played Liberty. I think it would have been interesting to see what would have happened there.
What has been your favorite episode to shoot so far?
Oh boy, again. It's really hard. We've shot 22 episodes for five seasons. We just passed our 100th episode. So, it's really hard to pinpoint a specific episode. But, as I've said, we have fun everyday on set. It's been really fun all the way through.
Has being on Degrassi changed the way people look at you in public?
For sure. It's quite a bit different than being a totally anonymous person. People recognize you on the street. They react to you differently. Around your friends and family, they treat you the same way. They still see who you are. Being in the public eye has all and all been a positive experience for me. I can't complain. But it is definitely different than being one of the masses.
Do you have any advice on what aspiring actors should do?
It's difficult. It's always a struggle to get into acting. Keep pursuing it if you are really passionate about it. You'll find a way to do it. Get involved in school productions. Join local drama clubs. Community theater is always a good way to start. Follow your goals and you'll get to a place you want to be.
Thank you.
