We want to highlight that revenues will be donated to our Wolf research project(s) and we encourage universities, conservation orginizations, and independent researchers to apply for our donation(s). Versipellis will be a free downloadable feature documentary in five segments in English. We hope the formula will attract sponsors from all over the world.
What is the name of your movie and what's it about?
Versipellis. In ancient latin it is the term for "werewolf." We decided to use such a historical name for it sounds interesting, different. Literally means "someone with fur inside" and this explanation looked perfect for our purpose. Versipellis will take you to the world of violence, genetic and mental diseases, and the historical werewolf trail.
How did you cast your actors?
Versipellis is based on a classic wildlife documentary structure. It will feature a presenter and a few other actors for the werewolf footage. Not too many actors will be involved.
What sets your film apart from the others in the horror field?
We have an excellent script. And we want to offer a very informative movie. Far from products we have seen before, which are usually collages of Hollywood clips with a text.
Are you looking for a DVD release or a theatre release?
As stated in our website we want to freely distribute our movie on the Internet. But we accept private donations and those donating at least 15 US Dollars/Euros will receive the full quality DVD and their name in the credit section.
We believe in a different approach to entertaining, we want to make something different, innovative... We can offer a great informative product with the help of people from all over the world at a cheap price and support conservation at the same time.
How does the soundtrack fit into all this?
Classic and mostly orchestral. We want a gothic background with some tribal sounds. You can listen to a small piece of it in the trailer.
Where did you shoot the film and why?
Locations are all in Abruzzo, an Italian mountainous district in the very heart of the Apennine chain. Very wild, very unpopulated, some panoramas remind people of the Carpatians and sometime you get the feeling of old England and France. We love it.
What's your first public showing?
We don't know yet. We are going to start shooting end of September. Hopefully the final product release is expected in the first quarter 2007.
We'll keep your readers informed.
Thanks!
