Inside Deep Throat - An Interview with Harry Reems - Comments Page 2

With the upcoming release of the video Inside Deep Throat, ~ the video that tells the back story behind Deep Throat and the controversy surrounding the film ~ Harry Reems is just as energetic and youthful and exuberant now as he was some thirty odd years ago when he played a major starring role in the film Deep Throat, the “first real pornographic film of our time,” he tells me. Before that, Reems says, “They were 8mm black and white ‘stag films’ that permeated American homes in the 50s and 60s.”…

"although I drink lots of tea and gave up milk for soy milk recently" - that's good. Cow milk is disgusting. I'm not herbal either, but I should be.

I never heard Ministry before..I think, but are you saying I'm a gothy artsy weido? I hope not.

You may be cuter than Brandon Flowers (is that really his name? FLOWERS??) but are you hotter than Viggo Mortensen? I think not! :)

I don't eat red meat either.

I don't get the Viggo Mortenson thing. Maybe because I'm the only person I know who's never watched the Lord of the Rings movies. I tried renting one, but I couldn't get through 5 minutes of it and I ended up returning it with like a month of late fees. I know they got great reviews and all, but I'm just not nerdy enough to get into scifi/fantasy and I don't think he's a hot hobbit.

He looks he belongs in the 80s TV version of "Beauty and the Beast" with Linda Hamilton, minus the makeup. I guess that's my oblique way of saying he looks a lil uggo once you get past the Fabio hair and the jawline.

You're alright for a gothy artsy weirdo, Violet Jones :)

How can you never have heard of Ministry?

    That is all.

And yes, his name is actually FLOWERS.

Sorry for doing this to your porno thread, Sadi. Feel free to steer it back to porn anytime you want.

    That is all.

I'm learning so much about you today, Bob. I mean Babsie.

To bring the thread back to porn, I've never seen Deep Throat.

I'll just ignore what you said about Viggo. And his jawline is perfect. It's strong. Heh.

How can you not have watched Lord of the Rings? I hate fantasy crap, but that's just such a good movie. I even enjoyed the books and I didn't think I would at all.

Viggo the Uggo does have a strong jawline for a damn Hobbit elf troll. But I like my manly jawline better, although he has nicer Fabio hair, I must admit. Does he have dimples? I lost mine somewhere along the way as I grew older into my features -- is it possible for someone to lose their dimples, because I think I did. No one thinks I'm smiling anymore since my dimples ran away.

Gonzo, set up a room for me and Jones Violet.

    For Deep Throat.

The movie, you sickos. It's a screening. Get your minds out of the gutter. I would never in a million years know anything about all that stuff :)

Lord of the Rings is too goth for me :)

Anyone who guessed my age right wins a spank, but I don't think anyone did. So I'm still hurt and upset that you all thought I was 40-something or 13.

    That is all.

Viggo has the chin dimple: See?

Dimples don't run away. They just turn into wrinkles. But you shouldn't have to worry about at 13. I mean 26. I have a few years until mine turns into a wrinkle too. We're lucky. For now.

Thanks for taking on the Harry Reems interview, Sadi.

Deep Throat will live on in infamy because of all the barriers it knocked down.

    Good job!

I don't have wrinkles, but my dimples just disappeared. It's a mystery :)

I'm glad I don't have an ass on my chin.

Duane, you know I'm wonderfully entertaining.

    That is all.

you are right; i suppose it does teach young people (and older, i would guess) how to have sex that is beyond rote and routine and what is taught in text books and health class in junior high-school.

Harry Reems is a fascinating guy and Deep Throat will always remain a classic, though i'm finding it difficult to find, esp though common sources like Amazon. Even the local DVD video place did not have it, and neither did NetFlix... How odd and censory of them, i think.

    Just my opinion.

    Cheers,

    S.

just curious, sade. How did you land this interview? Nice job, by the way.

thanks, i'm glad you liked it. i got the interview through a contact/friend who asked me to do it, so i just said yes and that was that. It was one of those chance things sort of the way things work out. Kinda the way i got Tom Verlaine, though that one i pursued more aggressively because he's more hermetic. I know that Reems is/was promotinig a very good documentary called "inside deep throat" (on amazon) which i HIGHLY recommend. It's excellent, so buy it ~ really.

It speaks to the cultural significance that deep throat had during a real era of flux ~

    Check it out.

    Cheers,
