This Sunday, teens across the country get to have their voice heard about all things movies, TV, and music during Teen Choice 2012. At the helm of this year's festivities is Glee star Kevin McHale and newly minted X-Factor judge Demi Lovato.
McHale, who previously co-hosted the awards show back in 2010, alongside Katy Perry and his fellow Glee co-stars Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer, and Mark Salling, said that this time around there’s more responsibility on his end, but he’s excited.
“I’m looking forward to kind of being able to spend a little time with Demi and having the spontaneity of it being live, because you can only plan so much. So, I’m going to hopefully be prepared for anything,” he explained during a press call earlier this week
The Glee star mentioned during the call that he and Lovato hadn’t had time to rehearse quite yet, due to the pop star’s busy X Factor schedule. However, he's looking forward to their back and forth interactions during Sunday night's show.
“I think we’ll have good chemistry up on stage,” he said. “It’ll be fun to kind of mess around, and I’m extremely self-deprecating, so I’m all for being made fun of. It’s going to be fun to kind of see what happens when we work on the script for the show and whatnot.”
As far as his hosting duties are concerned, McHale has a couple do’s and don’ts for himself, including trying to play it cool in front of other celebrities.
“Because it’s live, I guess you have to watch what you say and keep it together. It’s going to be fun and luckily I have Demi to lean on and likewise for her,” he shared.
