I saw THE HULK last Saturday (June 14).
No. I didn't see it in a movie theater.
No. I wasn't invited to a special screening.
No. I didn't watch it on the Internet.
I saw the movie on [a bootleg] DVD at my neighborhood barbershop!
Yep. While I was getting my haircut – an all-round "baldie" fade and a mustache trim – I watched in awe of what is destined to be this summer's box-office smash. All eyes were on the television screen. Words like "Whoa!," "Yo, the special effects is kinda tight," "Who's that white girl?" and "Damn, look at this green motherfucker!" came out of the mouth of customers.
I know Hollywood is trying to combat Internet piracy and bootlegging at all levels, but I never bother to ask who owned the DVD. Nor, did I asked anyone how one can obtained such a prestined copy of this movie – on DVD no less! But like many of us, I was also anxious to see what was all the rage over this angry green giant.
And now I know why everyone is green with anticipation.
The Hulk is a very good comic-book film. Marvel Comics and Universal Pictures has done, done, done it again!
I'm not going to review the film in detail because I really don't know if what I saw was the final print. (Probably not) However, after reading a movie review in Screen Daily, it confirmed – for me at least – that I did see either the final print or a screener's copy of the movie [on a bootleg DVD].
So I will just leave you with my mental notes on The Hulk:
* This is an intense film. The story line is very dark. There's practically no humor or levity in this movie – it's really a Shakespearean-like tragedy.
* The flick is very faithful to the 1962 comic book created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby and not the cheesy CBS show, The Incredible Hulk (1977-1982).

aye, it makes me laugh when hollywood claims they are doing well in the fight against piracy. They may be able to catch small groups of students who take part in filesharing, but can they catch the people who leak screeners and rip them and release them to the public? no....
