Entourage, Firewall, Underworld - Evolution: Region 1 DVD Releases for June 6th, 2006

Part of: New DVDs

This week, another great series comes to DVD: Entourage: The Complete Second Season

We can be thankful that Venture Bros. and Entourage have new seasons coming up soon if for no other reason than because it means their previous seasons are now out on DVD. Season three of Entourage starts Sunday and it's worth your while to buy season two now and binge in order to catch up. The episodes are like candy. Excellently written candy. I suppose it would be silly to provide quotes from a show entirely without context two weeks in a row just to show how entertaining the dialogue is, so let's do it...

"That was a good speech, Lloyd. If I was 25 and liked cock, we could be something."

"You know what they feed people on an indie set, Vinne? Nothing! They don't give you a trailer. They tell you to go sit on an apple box. Ever try to bang an extra on an apple box?"

"Listen, Lloyd, I want you to put all my files, folders, binders, everything into a box! If you find a used condom, an executioner's mask, and a fucking spiked paddle, don't think, just pack that bitch! Chop suey!"

"You know another class I took at Harvard? Business Ethics. I don't steal other people's mother fucking clients, but in your case I'm going to make an exception. I'm going to take everyone; your B-level sitcom stars, your reality TV writers, when I'm done with you, you're gonna be repping sideshow freaks. You need Jo-Jo the Dog-Face-Bitch-Boy? Call Josh Weinfuck, the lightweight pen-stealing fuckface."

And that's all from one character, Ari Gold, played by the Emmy-nominated Jeremy Piven who, along with Kevin Dillon, pretty much steals the show.

(A couple of those quotes are from season one, so you should probably get that, too.)

Extras include interviews with the cast and crew conducted by executive producer Mark Wahlberg. Yes, that Mark Wahlberg.

Firewall

Okay, so you like 24. Love the Mary Lynn Rajskub. Like Kiefer, but wish he was Harrison Ford. Oh, and you wish the show sucked horribly and only lasted two hours. Well, today is your lucky day. You can read my full review.

Extras include a conversation between Harrison Ford and director Richard Loncraine called "Firewall Decoded" and not, strangely, "Firewall, Wow That Totally Sucked, Huh?"

Underworld - Evolution

Improbably, critics liked this sequel even less than its predecessor. I say improbably because there wasn't much further down to go. That having been said, I had kind of a "meh" reaction to the original and am just curious enough to check out the sequel regardless because, hey, it's werewolves fighting vampires. That never gets old.
