Actors ranged from Steve Carrell, the lead actor in The Office, to Larry David of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Others included Kevin James of The King of Queens, Tony Shaloub of Monk, and Charlie Sheen of Two and a Half Men.
Actresses were Stockard Channing of Out of Practice, Jane Kaczmarek of Malcolm in the Middle, Debra Messing from Will and Grace, Julia Louis-Dreyfus of The New Adventures of Old Christine, and Lisa Kudrow from The Comeback.
As in the Drama Category, Supporting nominees tended to come from the same shows as the ones nominated. Jon Cryer from Two and a Half Men will go up against Sean Hayes from Will and Grace. Rounding out the category are Will Arnett of Arrested Development, Jeremy Piven of Entourage, and Bryan Cranston of Malcolm in the Middle.
For Supporting Actresses, Desperate Housewives finally got into the game with the nomination of Alfre Woodard. Megan Mullally picked up yet another nomination for her work as the tipsy, pill-popping Karen on Will and Grace. Elizabeth Perkins nabbed a nod for Weeds, while Cheryl Hines of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Jaime Pressly of My Name is Earl finished out the list of contenders.
Even going online didn't give me the list of everyone and everything nominated. However, a few things caught my eye. Due to the massive overload of categories and nominees, some awards are presented in a separate ceremony. Among the people possibly getting an award for acting as a guest star in a television body of work are Kyle Chandler for his bomb detecting duties on Grey's Anatomy, Michael J. Fox and Christian Clemenson for rising to the occasion as quirky attorneys on Boston Legal, Henry Ian Cusick for Lost, James Woods on ER, Christina Ricci for her handholding ammunition skills in Grey's Anatomy, and Cloris Leachman for Desperate Housewives.
All in all, I think the field is fairly well-rounded. Yes, the shows which most people seem to adore are represented. However, the nice thing is seeing others who were on and off in a blink take the first step towards deserved recognition.

i really feel bad for desperate housewives, but then again they can't expect nominations everytime.

Actually, they did get nominated. But one went to the newest neighbor and one went to a guest star. Considering Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman have Golen Globes, Emmys, and an Oscar between them, it says something.
