If Daniel Radcliffe’s success in London’s West End revival of Equus is a sign of his future beyond the J.K. Rowling adaptations, then Emma Watson has a reason to be pissed. But rather than get nude for Broadway, she’s now considering sitting out on the last two Potter films.
Watson, who plays Hermione Granger (one of Harry’s best friends) in the series, wants to stop being known as “the girl from Harry Potter”. Even though Warner Bros offered her a cool $2 million to do the role, she has yet to sign on the dotted line for the final two films. In the case of the lead actor himself, Radcliffe already got that done ahead of time.
Of course the studio has the PR people at work claiming with confidence that she will return to the role for the last two films. If I were her agent and I wanted to keep the checks going into my account, I would push as hard as possible to get her to sign. Not many 16-year-old girls get $2 million for anything.
Perhaps she could go the Katie Holmes route – you get a rich boyfriend, and then you don’t have to do any work at all. Hopefully if she does that she will scan the brain of said suitor for Scientology residue from the mothership.
Speaking of Holmes, word has it that she has left the revived Batman franchise (with Christian Bale taking over the role since Batman Begins) in favor of other projects. The role of the potential hottie will be filled by a Gyllenhaal, Jake's sister Maggie (pictured at left).
Also in TomKat news, Cruise has taken his love of Katie to a frightening new level. After being pissed about a sex scene in Thank You For Smoking, The Dawson’s Creek actress will now only do movies that have none in it – including no kissing.
This trend will start as Katie Holmes films Mad Money, a comedy about three women who steal money from the Federal Reserve. Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah will also co-star with Holmes in the film.

Tom Cruise is a nut. No kissing? 90% of movie roles for adults involve kissing, since there's usually some type of romantic angle for any lead character.

What does Emma Watson want to do, TV sit coms? If she is sick of HP, she would not last long on a TV show. She is the lead in one of the biggest blockbusters in the world and she is bored? That attitude won't get her very far. I would love to see more of Rupert Grint in the next three movies. I think he is a great talent, but, the time constraints of the HP movies force the script writers to gloss over Ron's character and we just don't get to see the talent that I believe is lurking in Rupert. Good luck to Rupert in the future.

I actually sympathize her for it. In a way, people actually only know the fictional Hermione and not the real-life Emma Watson. It's kinda like the Harry vs Boy-Who-Lived case.
Harry Potter is the only film she's played in so far. Her own talent is being overshadowed by the role 'Hermione'. And that's not to mention about the whole 'stalker' thing.
I don't know if anyone think it's great but I sure as hell don't want it to happen to me.
Be a bit sympathetic, why don't you. She's still only a kid.

I think that she is a wonderful 16 year old actress but i do agree with her leaving because wouldn't you want a break every now and then?
