DVD Review: The Man Show

Here is a DVD that I know all of you have been waiting for, or maybe not. Anyway, here is a collection of two the most popular segments from The Man Show, before it lost it's funny.

These are are not episodes, just each of the clips strung together. The problem by joining all of these clips together is that it becomes a little too much. There was a reason why they didn't make these the whole show before, it is tiresome in large doses. That said, the segments aren't without their humor.

First up, "Household Hints from Adult Film Stars". These, uhhh, titillating segments feature such stars as Jenna Jameson, Samantha Steele, and Serenity. They give tips on things ranging from shining silver candlesticks, to getting out a wine stain, to homemade icepops. Each segment, beside the sometimes useful hints, are told in a delightfully arousing manner. It also exposes how little personality they have, but that would be me taking this too seriously. I'd be lying if I didn't enjoy these clips, but again, smaller doses, please. The clips total a little over 16 minutes.

Next up is "The Man Show Boy. Brought" into the show at the ripe age of 11, this youngster, perpetually in a boy scout uniform is sent out by our amiable hosts to the streets on a variety of missions. Among them, helping "old" women cross the street, buying porn with a fake ID, and convincing strangers to buy him beer. Again, taken individually these clips are funny, watched all at once, they start to become a bit repetitive. This goes on for about 38 minutes.

Overall, this is a sort of funny collection, but it would be hard to recommend this over the season sets that are available. These clips are much funnier when placed within the shows themselves. The Man Show is a funny show, just keep the clips where they belong.

Not Recommended.
