A new SpongeBob SquarePants DVD is on the shelves — how exciting! The kids can hardly wait. “We love SpongeBob,” they scream with excitement. “We have to see it!” Then they all gather around the television for a fun night of laughter and singing with the new Nickelodeon DVD, SpongeBob SquarePants: Truth or Square. Featured on the DVD is the Special Extended Director's Cut of the Truth or Square movie.
SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends, Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs are planning for the eleventy-seventh anniversary of the Krusty Krab. SpongeBob is extremely excited. He decorates the entire place for less than 50 cents by using pink toilet paper for streamers, ketchup and mustard as paints, and the Krabby Patties for balloons (just inflate them with helium and they become balloons).
Then SpongeBob has the greatest surprise, an enormous ice sculpture of a Krabby Patty. When the group tries to move the heavy sculpture out of the freezer, they accidentally get locked in. This leads to their adventure through the air ducts trying to get out. As they are crawling around, they reminisce about how they came to be friends and the good old days. Mr. Krabs finds an old Krabby Patty wrapper that takes them to a flashback of when the Krusty Krab first opened.
Of course in the end, SpongeBob saves the day by crooning a love song for the Krusty Krab which brings all of the customers back for the grand eleventy-seventh anniversary. Everyone is happy, especially Mr. Krabs who sees all of that money walking into his business.
During this episode, Patchy the Pirate is planning a special show for SpongeBob’s tenth anniversary special, complete with celebrity guest stars such as Robin Williams, Craig Ferguson, Will Ferrell, Pink, and Tina Fey. Each celebrity adds a little bit of fun to the show with their great comedic style and Pink sings a special musical number entitled “Scurvy” (a pirate’s song, of course). You can even sing along after the show with the karaoke music videos in the Special Features on the DVD.

My kids recorded this on NickHD, and have watched it, oh, I don't know, several hundred times? I was surprised by how much live-action there was, though I suppose live-action scenes are cheaper to create than animated scenes.

I was surprised as well. Although, I really enjoyed that part of the DVD. The celebrity appearances really made it fun for us older kids.
