DVD Review: Roseanne Season 3

I just spent the day at Third Ave and Delaware St in Landford, Illinois, with my friends the Conners: Dan, Roseanne, Becky, Darlene, D.J. and Jackie. I reminisced about the third year of our friendship. Things were really hectic back then. The most dramatic moment of the time was when Roseanne thought she was pregnant. She had everyone on edge waiting for those test results.

It was an eventful time: Becky found the man of her dreams and her parents hated him. Darlene was asked to her first school dance and her mom went a little crazy. Ziggy came back to town and got Dan involved in a motorcycle business. These and many other events have been documented on a four disc DVD set (uncut). Old and new friends will enjoy watching.

Laurie Metcalf (Jackie Harris), speaks about life on the set and how much she loves and respects the cast. Laurie started her career in the theater. Her role as Roseanne's sister was her first television credit. Laurie reflects back on each cast member and their contributions to the show.

Lecy Goranson (Becky Conner) speaks about what it was like to play Becky. She tearfully says it was something she is really proud to have been part of; she loved the show and everyone involved in it. She was closest to Sara Gilbert (Darlene) - both girls were the same age. Lecy shares special memories of each cast member.

I have always loved the Conners. They had an open invitation to visit my home every week. My favorite visit was when Dan and Roseanne celebrated their anniversary by teaching Becky and Darlene a lesson about curfews. Of course the girls were too smart to be fooled. But the episode was entertaining from start to finish.

There is a little something extra on the DVD. A promo of Roseanne's new kids show. She sings and dances her stories for children. I think Roseanne fans will enjoy this little preview, and other added extras.

I love Roseanne, I can watch every episode over a million times and enjoy every minute. Season 3 on DVD is a real treat for any fan. I can't wait until every season is available! I too love "Roseanne," the series. I thought when I was growing up that if I could have a marriage that was half as good as Dan and Roseanne's, then I'd be one lucky person. :)

The best reason to by the collection is simple. When it first came out I videotaped every episode, so I'm fairly familiar with it and love it-obviously. I CAN'T stand to watch it in syndication because I see all the great things the independant stations cut out of it, in order to put more commercials in!

I noticed that too while watching the DVD...I wish I had all seasons on DVD.
