Pound Puppies: Homeward Pound helps insure that a new generation of kids will continue to love the Pound Puppies.
The pound puppies at Shelter 17 come in all shapes and sizes, but what they all have is heart. And they always stick together. "Once a Pound Puppy, always a Pound Puppy" is their code.
With their mission to find homes for every homeless puppy in the world, the pups of Shelter 17 are always on the job. Lucky, the leader of the pack, gentle giant Niblet, tough Cookie, wily Squirt,and savvy Strudel work together, but things don't always go as planned, and that where the fun and adventure begins. And then there's Rebound, who has a home with Agatha now but still gets help from the gang when she needs it. And don't forget the squirrels, including Mr. Nutt Nutt, who help out when the dogs have a task that requires hands.

A whole generation of parents grew up with the original Pound Puppies. The animation here is different, but the message of "a pup for every person and a person for every pup," the cuteness, and the heart are still the same. The animation is excellent. The pups come in all sizes and colors, and each pup has a voice and personality that suits its look. Each child will probably have his or her own favorite. Even my 3 month old granddaughter does: she's is in love with the green chihuahua, Squirt, already.
There are great lessons for kids here about love and loyalty as well as the value of every living creature, but mostly, there is a lot of fun in sweet, humorous and adventurous animated stories. This is a great DVD for young ones that parents won't mind watching with them.
