DVD Review: Jim Gaffigan - King Baby - Page 2

There may not be any bits from King Baby that stir up quite the viral furor of “Hot Pockets,” but there are a lot of laughs to be found in this fast-paced hour-plus special that will certainly please the Gaffigan faithful.

The disc contains a hodgepodge of special features, most of which are worthwhile. Three episodes of the animated short web series Pale Force, starring Gaffigan and Conan O’Brien as superheroes defeating crime on the strength of their pale skin, are representative of the bizarre humor of the series. Four episodes of the web short "Our Massive Planet," which features Gaffigan incompetently narrating a faux-nature program, are mildly amusing.

A gag British interview reveals that the tour was supposed to be named “The Unsexy Tour,” but Gaffigan heard wrong, and a 30-minute long radio interview shows that he can’t really be serious even when the questions are real.

Also included are footage from Gaffigan’s Atlanta tour stop and Comedy Central promos for both “The Sexy Tour” and the “Beyond the Pale” tour.
