The Pop Princess, Hannah Montana, scores another home run in this delightful series of new-to-DVD Hannah Montana episodes. Included in this collection are: “The Test of My Love” (Aug. 31, 2008), “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get the Phone” (Sept. 21, 2007), “Yet Another Side of Me” (Aug. 3, 2008), “We’re All On This Date Together” (Oct. 12, 2008), and a bonus fifth episode, “ Ready, Set, Don’t Drive” (Nov. 9, 2008).
The main theme of this collection is to not be afraid to show the world who you really are and to be true to yourself. This is one aspect of the Hannah Montana phenomenon that is very appealing to adults and children alike — the fact that the world renowned and ever-famous Hannah Montana does in fact make mistakes, is not perfect, but in the end finds her way to what is right.
Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) makes a hilarious appearance in “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get the Phone” as himself — the target of Hannah (Miley Cyrus) and Lilly (Emily Osment) as they try to set him up for the ultimate embarrassing photo op. In this episode, Hannah will do anything to get the money for the latest and greatest cell phone - but will she realize that there is such a thing as going too far, before it is too late?
In “We’re All On This Date Together,” viewers will be delighted to see the guest appearance of Corbin Bleu (of High School Musical fame), as well as other well known faces like Donny Osmond and Ray Romano. Hannah takes part in a charity auction and ends up on a double date with both Johnny (Bleu) and the show's mini-biz maniac Rico (Moises Arias).
Hannah falls for a rich investor’s son, Trey, in “The Test of My Love.” Afraid that she will not impress Trey’s parents, she thinks she has to act more sophisticated, but soon realizes that she needs to be herself. She maintains this even during the worst of the “hillbilly” jokes that are tossed in throughout by Trey’s snobbish parents. However, the last laugh is on Trey’s parents!
Keeping hip and loved by her fans in the upcoming years is a worry that Hannah faces in “Yet Another Side of Me.” Isis, the Queen of Pop, tells Hannah that the only way she will stay popular in the music business is to keep changing — both her music and her appearance. This leads to Hannah trying out many music genres and looks. This will bring out much laughter in the viewers as they see Hard Rock Hannah, Techno Hannah, and Hip-Hop Hannah.
