DVD Review: Friend Pack 4 DVD Set

I have two little girls (11 months and five-years-old) with birthdays coming up. One gift that I know will make both of them very happy is the Friend Pack 4 DVD Set from Hit! Entertainment.

The DVD four-pack comes with two full Barney DVDs, Everyone is Special and Let's Play School. Angelina Ballerina has a new CGI look and adds new forms of dance, like jazz, tap and hip-hop, to her repertoire in Angelina Ballerina: Love to Dance. Finally, for the first time on DVD, Fifi and the Flowertots put on their very own talent show in Fifi's Talent Show.

My soon-to-be one-year-old loves to dance along to all of Barney's songs. I appreciate the slow pace, simple plot, and memorable music for her, at this young age. I don't want her to watch anything too flashy or loud right now. The funny thing is, I generally notice my older kids (even my eight-year-old daughter) sitting down with her to enjoy the show.

For my soon-to-be six-year-old, Angelina Ballerina never fails to entertain. Even though Angelina has many more opportunities to be the star of the show than my daughter does, her ability to get herself into (and out of!) crazy mishaps make her a character to whom my daughter can easily relate.

We weren't as familiar with Fifi and the Flowertots. This stop-animation show follows the adventures of Fifi, a forget-me-not and her friends in the Flowertot Garden. In this DVD, Fifi forgets to practice for her part in the talent show because she is so busy helping her friends get ready for their parts. Of course, her friends are quick to come to her rescue and the show is saved.

I like having multiple DVDs available in one package so I know I have something available to satisfy the wide-ranging preferences of my four kids. This DVD collection makes each of my kids feel happy, even my son, and that makes me feel happy.
