“Getting to Know You” finds the Camden family attempting to have a party with Muslims, while “I Wasn’t Expecting That!” introduces us to Martin (Tyler Hoechlin) for the first time. Other episodes feature family members reaching out to their communities, learning about new cultures, and learning the dangers of college and hide and seek.
7th Heaven is a generally conventional, family-friendly television program that can be quite monotonous and featureless. Many credit the show’s conservative Christian nature for being responsible for its success, although many others include the notion that several young stars were often featured.
For those looking to add the latest chapter of the adventures of the Camden Clan to their collection, 7th Heaven: The Eighth Season should naturally be on the list. Others looking for an entrance point to this family, whose Christmas cards doubtlessly feature 30 identical outfits, might be better served starting closer to the beginning.
The DVD set features all 23 season eight episodes in full-screen format. There are no bonus features.
