The third year on earth for the Solomons doesn't get any easier. They struggle with human concerns of weight gain, discrimination, and among other things, our legal system. There is so much on this DVD, great bloopers and commentaries, and the package includes a booklet and photos. I have so many favorites.
My favorite third season episode is "Eleven Angry Men and One Dick." Dick's excitement to serve on a jury quickly turns to apprehension over controlling the fate of another human being, which leads the team to discuss the fallibility of even their own alien justice system.
My favorite "extra" is the blooper segment. The cast really seemed to enjoy each other. It was laugh out loud funny. The scene with John Lithgow in a wheelchair was hysterical. I didn't think Jane Curtin would ever get her lines out. Laughter seemed to be the main reason for their bloopers.
The actual DVD box speaks. You press a button and you hear "Dick" say, "Oh my God, you are gorgeous." The photos on the box are awesome. You'll also enjoy the enclosed booklet called "The Guide To Living On Earth." It includes a funny collection of quotes and definitions.
I really miss this show. They gave us new insight to our everyday lives and made some of our complaints seem trivial — lessons with the laughter. I'm glad we can now watch anytime we want, thanks to DVDs. Every fan will want to get every season available. You can't be a real fan without them.
